Hi Scott, I’ll be there to follow up on my question from Tuesday about preventing duplicate contacts using SFID as match criteria.

How can I set up my Salesforce connector/rule to prevent creation of duplicate contacts in Gainsight when the email is changed in Salesforce?

We have a connector job and a rule set to create/update contacts in Gainsight with several bidirectional fields. Email seems to be used as the Match Criteria for the rule but I don’t see a way to change this to something like the Salesforce ID.

Hi Scott,

I think I know the answer to my own questions but would like confirmation.   I have a data designer that is merging 2 MDAs.  One MDA has the Related Account GSID as a string field type and the other MDA has the Related Account GSID as an ID field type.  When I use those 2 fields in my join I get no records returned.  The reason is because one is a string field type and one is an ID field type, correct?

I don’t think I can edit that string field type in Data Management to make it an ID field type.  Is that correct?  In order to have an ID field type for the Related Account GSID I will need to create a new field with a GSID field type, correct?

Thanks,

Rhonda
