Add more filters and search to timeline

Related products: CS Timeline

Now that we're starting to have more activities recorded in timeline there are a few filter/search use cases that would make finding information easier:

  • Ability to filter by date - this could be helpful when looking for information within a specific timeframe

  • Ability to search/filter by activity creator - this is useful when looking for entries only created by the previous CSM or only created by a specific contributor

  • Ability to search for internal or external attendees - this is helpful when trying to determine which meetings a specific person attended or how often that person was involved in an interaction
These additional search/filter options would help as the current text search appears to only operate on the title of the activity and the text of the activity entry.
Dan, in addition to those use cases, it would be awesome if we could also do search on the Notes section. Sometimes we need to search for specific keywords (like product or patch) and this would come in handy.

Thanks!

Hi Marcelo - do you perhaps mean searching the ancillary fields that can be added to a Timeline activity type?

The search box today does allow searching of the Notes text section.
Sorry Dan... you are right, I meant to state ancillary fields. Good catch...
are the checkboxes you can add to activity types examples of "ancillary fields"?
Hi, Capability to Search, add Advance Filters and save them as Views, will be available in short term road-map. Thanks for posting

Sai,

Any update on timing to save views on the timeline filter? We have a new activity type that we're really only intending on using for a specific CSM team. We'd either like to see the ability to add account level filters (like you can in cockpit) to filter this list quickly OR be able to save a filtered view where we can add a fairly long list of authors and not have to add them individually each time.

Agree with the point that it would be very helpful to be able to do "Advanced Filtering", to filter Account Timeline by ancillary field values!

This is especially important because we are guiding customers towards creating Activity subtypes (like adding a "Meeting Type" dropdown to the Meeting Activity Type), to get around the limitation of the number of Activity Types you can have in any given instance. However, it's an issue if they can't easily filter Timeline entries based on these subtypes.

+1 for searching by contact name! Prepping for a customer meeting, I had to hunt through a bunch of Timeline entries for the most recent one that involved the person who we're meeting with.

Is there an ETA as to when there will be more Advanced Filtering within Timeline - filter by Select Types and their sub-categories? It takes staff a long time to weed through Timeline entries to find the data they are looking for.

Thank you,

Di Hastings - Availity

the ability to search by activity author or date are really important!!

Hi All, I really appreciate your patience here. I heard good news from the product, saying, they have added this enhancement to a high priority product road map and will be available soon.

Cheersss!!!
