Idea. Ability to Attach Outlook Emails to CTA's.

Related products: None

We have several types of email communication that don't translate well into a saved form (example - PDF).  We would like to the ability to save the email (as a whole) and then be able to attach it to a CTA.
Agreed.  Our CSMs are also asking for this functionality.
Hi Sagan,

There are two ways to do this with existing functionality.

  1. Timeline (and attachments) - Timeline is available on the CTA level and let's you not only take rich text notes with standardized (and customizable) activity types and fields, but also the ability to attach documents

  2. CTA file attachments - this is an older feature that predates Timeline and while still available, is a less flexible experience than compared to using Timeline
Do either of these meet your use case needs?
Hi Dan!

Thank you for the feedback.  But in these cases, it would be easier and much less time consuming if our users are able to attach the email itself.  No matter the way, we get the "Only .jpb,.jpg,.gif,.png, bmp, pdf, doc, docx, txt, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx types are supported".

So we're looking to add "msg" as a supported type.  (My apologies for not stating that in my original post.)
Hi All, Extending the file types is in Timeline road-map. Will update here once we take if for release.
Awesome!! Wonderful news! Thank you!

there are times when emails received from customers need to be posted to timeline but at this time .msg is not supported.  Can this be added to the roadmap?

In regards to attaching files in Timeline - Currently, the system is limited to certain file types, and we cannot attach Outlook email messages. Will .msg be a file type that we can add as an attachment in Timeline in the future?
