Surveys- adding disclaimer to use positive feedback

Hi there,

We’re thinking of adding in a disclaimer at the end of our next CSAT or NPS survey, something like “by participating in this survey you agree to letting our marketing use your response in any promotional materials.”

Does anyone have any examples of this? Just looking to get ideas on some concise verbiage.

Or any other ways you’re getting this consent?

Thanks!

Hi @kleasure - I’d caution against using that phrase in your survey. Online/email surveys have poor response rates as it is, and adding that disclaimer will only serve to lower your response rate (it won’t raise it).

Understanding that your goal would be to use positive responses in promotional materials, another approach might be to first review the responses, and then follow up with the respondents on any noteworthy responses that you’d like to use in your marketing. That way you’re only asking the disclaimer of individuals who are already thrilled with your service and likely to respond yes.
