@Shilpa Gumnur that is GREAT! Thanks for letting me know that option was there. I must have missed it in the documentation. It is sort of buried in that People section and I wouldn’t have known to look there without your help. Thanks!

I (like @gunjanm) would like to be able to remove the “Person” option as we do not want our CSMs adding people in Gainsight. We want them to ONLY do this in Salesforce. I have to have a workaround that provides me a weekly report whenever someone adds a person in Gainsight and then I have to back it all out and tell the user to add the person in Salesforce and NOT Gainsight.

Hello Scott,I am back with some Salesforce Connector questions...We were finally able to get the GS Task ID added to our Salesforce Activity object, so I wanted to talk with you about how the Task > Task Field Mapping checkboxes for Auto Sync and Bi-Directional Sync work and how I should go about testing to see if it is happening properly.I also have an Integration job setup for the Timeline object to bring Salesforce Tasks and Events over to Gainsight to the Timeline. I am finding that when an edit is made to a Salesforce Event that has been brought to Gainsight as a Timeline item, it gets overwritten each day with the original item coming from Salesforce. Is there a way to set it up so that edits made in Gainsight are not overwritten?Thanks!Travis Morgan

Hi Scott - another question as we setup the Salesforce Connector...When we ran the user job from the connector it is now creating rows in the GS User table with duplicate SF IDs when a person has had a name change (due to getting married) where they have been given a new email address and have changed their last name.  Now when we run the Opportunity rule it is failing on records for this user saying “Multiple matches found for field OpportunityOwner in gsuser object”.  I can see that it is the two entries in that object causing the issue, but how do I now combine these to rows that are the same physical person without messing up the history for the pre-marriage person who is on historical things like timeline activities, CTAs, etc.

Hello, I am going to simplify this question just to keep it straightforward even though my use case is more complex.  If I have a filter on my Salesforce connector that only brings over “Active” clients from Salesforce to Gainsight. How does it trigger Gainsight to update that client when the client is made “Inactive” in Salesforce?Thanks,Travis

Hi Scott,I am looking for some help with some of the configurations on our Salesforce Connector.  As I have gone back and forth with support there appears to be at least 3 places where you configure different parts of this connector:Getting Tasks to go from Gainsight to Salesforce has a couple of checkboxes under the Administration>Cockpit>Task>Task Field Mapping.  Those are Auto Sync and Bi-directional Sync.  We have both checked and nothing appears to be going over to Salesforce. There is also a section under Administration>Timeline>Activity Sync that appears to do something similar.  We tried to configure that and press the Start Manual Sync.  Still nothing appears to have gone over to Salesforce. For Salesforce Tasks and Events to sync to the Gainsight Timeline I believe you go to Administration>Timeline>Integrations>Salesforce Settings.  Then create two jobs (one for Tasks and one for Events). We got two Tasks to cross over, but we are not sure why it isn’t

Hello Scott - I also would like to ask some questions about the Salesforce Real Time Sync and the setup of the Salesforce connector in general:Can you sync over Salesforce Activity Data to the Gainsight Timeline? Can Gainsight Timeline entries be synced back to Salesforce? Is there a best practice way to turn on the Salesforce connector incrementally to be sure you don’t get out of sync with data that is currently being brought into Gainsight via a rule pulling from a daily .csv file in the S3 bucket?

Adding a CTA by emailUnder Consideration

@chethana has there been any update on where this is prioritized on the roadmap?  I am also working on adoption and this has been brought up a couple of times. Having this feature in Gainsight Assist for Outlook where they can create CTAs for themselves or others based on an email they are posting to the timeline would be very helpful.

CTA for Activities not related to an AccountNo Status

Has there been any update on this request?  We went live with Gainsight last September and having CSMs manage their tasks in two different systems does impact adoption. It would be helpful to have a clean way to assign CTAs and Tasks that are not associated to a particular customer/client.

@sdrostgainsightcom It is when another team member has added a comment to a task (the other team member owns the task not the CTA) on one of the CTAs the person owns.  So let’s say for example I have a CTA to follow up with a client about an add-on they want.  Then I add tasks to the CTA for you to get me a quote.  Then you put a comment on your task that you are getting additional information from John Doe for the quote.  How would I know that you added that comment?  There is nothing that they can find that notifies them when there are comments made on one of these tasks.  I looked at their profile settings and they have all of the notifications. My recommendation to them was to use @ mention functionality within the tasks.

I have a user who wants to know if there a way to get a notification if another team member has added a comment to a task.  I looked and they have all of the notifications on for their profile.  My recommendation to them was to use @ mention functionality within the tasks.  Is there another way to do this?

I am a new Gainsight admin and we are just kicking off our project in the next few weeks.  We are a full Microsoft tech stack and we use Teams across our organization.  I was interested to know the latest on this thread to find out if Teams functionality is coming soon?
