Is it on the roadmap to give the option to close Success Plans/Tasks via the Rules Engine? I understand there is the option with Mass Edit. But there are times when it would be easier to have a Rule that looks for X and closes those items out. Rather than relying on an Admin to check every so often. If this is already out there, could someone provide the document? =)Thanks!
A customer is facing an issue when creating an URL Concat string formula in a rule that they are able to right click and open in a new tab, but cannot left click to open the link.Is this a limitation or is there a workaround available? They have tried a few different suggestions from Community post but they are all a year or two old and have not worked.
I am trying to use the logic below but every time I save the view the software removes the parenthesis around G and H which changes the outcome of the logic. See below. Anyone know how to get around this? Example: A AND B AND (C OR D) AND (E OR F) AND (G AND H) AND IG = Status of ClosedH = Close Date of this QuarterI want to see either open records or closed records that closed this quarter which is the logic above.
Hi everyone, I’m new here and starting playing with GS! We have created a new object and have imported usage data from our product. We would like to filter / aggregate data since the beginning of the current contract. How can I do that with the rule engine? Thank you!Alice
From reading previous posts on best practices for CSMs escalating issues to the admin first, I am wondering if there is an opportunity for the Super Admin to grant support access on the CSMs behalf? The reason why I am asking is because our CSMs are focused on clients and sometimes don’t have time to spend 30 seconds to grant access when the Admin is talking to Gainsight Support. Maybe there could be a field that the Super Admins can type the reason why we’re granting access on behalf of a CSM? This way, it doesn’t delay the troubleshooting process.
Hello, I’ve check documentation for Mediation and found that we can check Mediation number and Average number, but gif pictures and my Rules engine have different tools and I can’t understand why. Here is the link of Docs: https://support.gainsight.com/Gainsight_NXT/03Rules_Engine/02Admin_Guides/Application_of_Statistical_Functions_in_Rules_Engine Example: I have variable a=[1,3,2,5,4,1,1,2]Target: Need extract Average value and populate another object b=NumberIt would be perfect if I can extract Mediation and Average values into b and c objects. Thank you!
Hello Gainsight Community, I am trying to create 198 CTAs using a CSV. The CSV was exported via Gainsight reporting and has all of the usual fields (account ID, owner, account name, etc). I can’t recreate the same parameters I used to do the report because there are about 80 records that I had to get from another source (but they all have the same data/columns). The CSV is loaded into S3 and I’m able to pull the file into the rules engine, however, I am not able to trigger CTAs off of just that file. I tried adding another dataset pulling in account info from salesforce and merging the two together, however I’m getting zero results. Our CSM is on vacation, Gainsight support will not help me, and I have to get this configured by Friday morning...so in a bit of panic. Any help or insight is appreciated.
Do we have way to provide access only to scorecard Visualizations alone? But not to scorecard configuration
Do we have way to provide access only to scorecard Visualizations alone? But not to scorecard configuration. This is really important because few users only want to access scorecard mass edit/Habbit reports.
Posting for a customer:When creating a rule there have been failures based on “Invalid email” and some of them we are able to notice. We are wanting to know the validation criteria so the changes can be made in the CRM but do not want to have to do this twice and have the rules fail again. Having this criteria will be very helpful in configuring the rule and avoiding failures. If this information is already available please provide a link.
One problem I face is that the S3 files often come in at delayed time. This means the V2 rules often fail as there is no file. I would like to be able to make a rule chain that is scheduled to run only if a different rule chain fails. Is there a way to schedule a rule chain to run only if there were no files at a certain time or only run if a set of rules failed?
Is it possible to convert a string to a numeric in a rules engine setup step? My scenario:I have a string that is prefixed by numerics (e.g. ‘20.This is the string’). I can strip the numeric part off by using the left function, but then I want to use that value in a case statement using ranges of numbers, e.g. If A > 1 and A < 10…. Since the value is a string, it sorts like 1, 100, 2, 210 etc, and my range selections don’t work.If I could cast the string to a numeric then I would be able to use numeric ranges. Any thoughts on how to do this?
Hello, Gainsight Community! I have recently inherited an Admin role within Gainsight from a previous Admin. This is my first experience with Gainsight, and it’s proving to be difficult to interpret things that were done by the previous Admin and why those things were done. Specifically with the Rules Engine. I am curious if anyone has any tips or tricks on resources or things they did when inheriting a Gainsight instance from another Admin. I am trying to figure out an easy or go to way to interpret rules, what the rule does and where the rule applies. My hope is to complete an audit of the rules that we have currently set up to clean it up a little bit and create a guide for what the rules do, in case I would ever move to another role and pass my Gainsight Admin role to another. Any help or tips would be amazing.
A few items I run into frequently that are super-frustrating!Any time I need to make changes to a rule with an S3 upload, I run into challenges. For example, this morning I needed to make some changes to a rule to capture a new date field. To do so, I had to pull the latest file from Archived and put it in another folder, thus changing the location of the file. Then, once I was done, I wanted to change the source back to the original location so I could trigger the schedule based on the Event of S3 Upload, but I couldn’t change it because there wasn’t a file there anymore, so the import changes wouldn’t save. So, now I have to manually go back in tomorrow once the new file is loaded, change the source, and then, update the rule. That leads to me I don’t always want to archive a file because I like to be able to reference and re-run when needed. However, I can’t schedule a the rule based on an event and use the date pattern, so I wind up having to archive. I would like the optio
Is it possible to create a rule that triggers a CTA when another CTA is closed successfully? The use case here is that our customers have 4 different meeting types that need to occur within the first 90 days after onboarding is completed and we want to track each of them as a separate CTA. We do not want to use success plans for this. I don’t see an action in the rules engine when using the CTA Object for Creating another CTA. I only see Load actions.
We currently utilize the SFDC version of Gainsight. In Salesforce, our users do not have access to the ACV field unless a specific permission set is granted -- most users do not have this assigned. Users can access this field via Gainsight for all records, not just their own. They can also report on this field in Gainsight but not in Salesforce. We want to be able to restrict access based on ownership of a record. For example:1. I am a CSMI should have access to ACV in Gainsight on records that I am the assigned CSM I should not have have access to view the ACV field on records I am not the CSM -- I still want to be able to view the Account record, just not the ACV fieldSimilarly, we have a field on the CustomersInfo object called ASV. It’s a copy of the ACV field that lives on Account. Is it possible to restrict fields in Gainsight based on ownership? I’ve been under the impression that Gainsight respects the Salesforce permissions that are in place but that doesn’t seem to be the ca
While I understand there is ‘Mass Edit’ to transfer CTAs, as we move to improve and automate certain tasks, having the ability to Mass Transfer CTAs while also Transferring Accounts to a new CSM...would be extremely helpful! I had thought we could use the ‘Load to Gainsight Object’, and then select ‘Call to Action’, but it doesn’t appear to be an option. Any insight or workarounds is welcome, but ideally we would like the ability to transfer CTAs via Rules Engine, when we also Transfer Accounts. Thank you!
We're trying to export flattened NPS surveys to a custom S3 bucket, but the datetime format of the survey responded date that comes from GS isn't accepted by Redshift when we ingest that data - is there a way to change the datetime format when you're exporting to S3 via a rule?
Our previous Gainsight Admin left the company and I have taken over for him. We currently use Gainsight Salesforce Edition and are wondering if deactivating him in Salesforce and stripping him of his permissions will cause Gainsight Automation he has created to break/no longer work as intended. We have run into this issue in Salesforce before but I’m not sure if Gainsight is impacted in the same way. If anyone could provide a list of items we will need to consider before deactivating that would be awesome!
When we are mapping a dropdown (either Single or Multi) field in external action and if that field contains blank from the source, the rule says success but the success plan isn't being created. This is only happening when the source field is of picklist/multi picklist data type.
I’m looking for help on creating a Rule to update an Account’s Engagement Type after all Escalation CTAs have been closed. If an Escalation CTA is closed, we want to update the Account’s Engagement Type to Established. That’s not a problem if there’s just one Escalation CTA open. What if there are multiple Escalation CTAs open? How do you create the Rule if an Account has...One Escalation CTA closed and 2 others are open, keep Engagement Type at Nurture All 3 Escalation CTAs are now closed, update Engagement Type to EstablishedThanks!
Hi Team, I understand what the viewer permission set is designed for, and we use it for our Sales team. The issue users are facing, is that there has been some confusion with SFDC Admins who have to assign these permission sets and if someone needs the Gainsight Standard permission set they're actually assigning ALL of them. If the highest most permissions (Gainsight Standard) would take precedence it wouldn't be an issue. What they’ve noticed, is that if multiple permission sets are applied they get some of the Gainsight Standard access (can view the C360, etc) but certain features are limited (like closing out CTAs). They’re able to fix by removing the viewer permission sets leaving just Gainsight Standard. It happens most often for a users if a user moves from a role that previously only had Viewer access, but now needs Standard access. The new permission set is getting added, but unless they explicitly ask, the viewer permission set is not being removed. Please share your thoughts
