Hoping someone can help me puzzle out how to do this. Basically, I want to take a set of dates and bucket them into a generic quarter. So, for example, if the date starts with January, I want to bucket that as Q1, if it starts with April, Q2, and so on. Use Case: We send our NPS surveys out twice a year, and the quarter that the customer receives it is directly related to their renewal date. So, if the renewal date is in Q2, they would get the survey in Q1 and Q3.I started off just using the exact date and using the rules engine to say if the dates are between 1/1/2021 and 3/31/2021, then, set the NPS schedule as Q2/Q4, and that worked, but then, it occurred to me that I was going to have continually update it as contracts get added further and further out. So, then, I had the thought that I could add field called Renewal Quarter, and assign a value there based on the month of the renewal date, but I can’t seem to isolate the month to do that.Open to any other suggestions anyone
I’m looking for a way to build a Cron expression that would allow a few of my Rules to run every two weeks in order to keep up with my ProServ team’s 2-week cycle. Running it every 15 days with 0 0 12 1/15 * ? unfortunately does not do the trick, and I don’t want to miss adjustments by changing it every month. Any ideas or suggestions? Any way I can incorporate the Rule Date into the actual Rule logic?
We have an MDA table that contains a calculated health score for each week going back a full year. We would like to run a rule that loads those historical (weekly) scores to the Scorecard so that we can see how it has changed over time. We've created a rule that should work, but it only loads the latest value. Is there a way to accomplish what we're after?
Hello, I need to create a field that has the Email Domain for a person record, so if their email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, then the email domain would be “abc.com”. I’ve tried doing it with Substring() via a calculated field and also a rule. I tried in a rule to do the transform task to get the position first and then added another transform task to use the position in a substring function, but it wouldn’t take a fieldname. It seems like it requires a hard coded number, so instead of being able to do something like substring(email address, @position, length), it seems that it wants something like substring(email address, 4, 10).Is there any way for me to do this in Gainsight?Thanks!
Hi Team. Working with one of the customer and found an issue with “Date Formula” field in Rules. Especially with the “Add/Subtract Date” Function. Issue was, once we add or subtract any days to the “DateTime” data type field using the “Add/Subtract Date Function”, we are getting an Output as “Date” format, instead datatime. It was causing an issue when we try to use that Formula field in the Action Criteria Part. But when we are the Execution History tab showing “No details to display”. Screenshot:

Hi, the goal is to trigger a new zendesk ticket via the api call.We use a rule chain for that and the body of the new ticket should contain the content of an specific activity.This works perfectly via the rules engine, but the problem is that only one ticket should be triggered or in other words, the rule should just process the new activity once.We could not filter the rule setup with like “just consider new activities”.Therefore we want to use a tag (in the activity) like “ticket created” (checkbox).Then the rule could be filtered for “ticket created= empty” and the action of the same rule could tag the field “ticket created”.Long story short: That’s why the rule action should change the activity field.Does anybody struggle with the same issue here? Have you ever felt stuck when using Data Designer or the Rules Engine when you have data from two data sources that just don’t seem to have a common identifier? Or, more likely, you need to aggregate data at an account level for one dataset and then compare it to data aggregated at a higher level (either your entire customer base or perhaps a certain segment). Either way, you need some kind of way to join that data...but how? That’s what this tutorial solves! This tutorial stemmed from a real-world use case I put together for a customer who needed to compare ARR that was at risk per customer against the total ARR for the entire customer base. So if Customer ABC had an open risk CTA and had an ARR of $200,000, the customer needed to compare that against their total ARR (let’s say $2 million) and get a percentage of 10% for customer ABC. I am trying to import our values for scorecard as this is calculated outside GS. Not every measure will have a value. The rule will error is when trying to attempt to insert when the value is null. I have created a separate rule for each measure, however my concern is that if a measure ever goes from a value to null I am not able to overwrite as the rule will not insert a null value.Is there another way to allow null values that I am unaware of?

I want to add an item into the navigation list on the left side of the homepage. Currently, my list contains: Home Accounts Customers Transactions etc.... Looking at training materials I can see that we should also have "Gainsight" which navigates you back to the GS landing/home page. Currently, if we navigate away from the home page we cannot get back without clicking on the top level "Gainsight' tab within SFDC. How do I add items to this list?
Looking to see if anyone has any tips on how to solve. We send surveys to accounts six months before their renewal month annually, which right now is a manual process where someone refines the list to return the month.I’m trying to create a rule each month that can return these same results, but am not sure how to look only to the month and ignore the year. Example: In January, I want to return all accounts with renewal dates in any July, regardless of the year.I found this similar thread, but not looking to send a program and not looking to modify any SFDC objects.
Has anyone experienced an issue when tokenizing rule comments? I have been creating some new scoring rules and have noticed that when I run a report on the Unified Scorecard data source, my comments are not updating and some of the comments have added on verbiage which I did not include in my rule comments. Here are a few examples, looking for guidance or if anyone else has faced this issue...thank you in advance for any advice! Comments in the rule Report showing 83 days ago which is not in the rule?
I am trying to create a rule where I need to write the Overall Product Adoption Usage label (red, yellow or green) to a field in SFDC, but I am not seeing this as being available in the MDA object. Has anyone had similar issues with this? I know I have seen this in reporting but just now seeing this in rules. I am also having support look at the issue so will report back if I have more info, but curious if anyones else has experienced this.
Issue :: IAM user has access to a specific folder and he is able to connect it via cyber duck, but when we try to access the folder in custom bucket the rule showing error as invalid credentials- The reason this error happens is because we are checking "list all buckets" permissions to validate. So, in the ticket #107403, this has been considered as an enhancement but as I couldn’t find any relevant post, hence creating this post to track this particular enhancement. Thank you!
Does anyone know if it is possible to drive a CTA based off of the scorecard snapshot label rather than the previous score? We have a lot of accounts that float around a threshold and it is more hurtful than helpful to see these fluctuations. We would like to just look at the snapshot (w/w) and drive the CTA off of that variance. The issue I’m running into is that I can’t seem to be able to identify the label at the time of the snapshot so that I can compare it to the label of the current snapshot. I.e. We only create a CTA if the score passes certain thresholds rather than just decreases by certain amounts. So I need to know what threshold it was in during the last snapshot as compared to the current one. Any ideas out there?
Is there a good audit log or report to identify the customers names when a Bionic Rule creates CTAs based on a event trigger? In Execution Logs I see number the CTA counts of the created CTAs, but no real way I could see to identify which account received the CTAs. i.e. rule made 5 CTAs when executed… But which five accounts? Seems helpful to note a customer identifier (name) in logs if there is a rule that makes CTAs automatically when the same CTAs are also regularly created manually.
-- Request from one of the Customer -- End users usually change their email addresses in client application somewhat frequently. They are bringing their unique ID into Gainsight MDA from Segment, and would like to update email on the Person, but Load to Person and Load to Company Person force email as an identifier. They want to use their External ID so that email can be updated. Email is not a good unique identifier because it changes too often. Is there any alternate approach to achieve this or plan to handle via Load to Person / Company Person rule actions?
Hi There, Currently, when you add filter or a new field to a dataset and click on Preview, Rules Engine first saves the new additions and then generate a Preview results, which is not correct because the entire point of a Preview button is to test out a change before committing it. Can the behavior be changed, such that when we save then only the new addition should get saved. This would also be very helpful while debugging because now when we see rule Last Modified date, we aren’t sure whether, someone really modified something or just previewed the dataset. Thanks ~Shiv
How do you suggest I automatically load data each day into the Multi Select Drop Down List within the MDA if the Rules Engine doesn't support it? Has anyone had any luck integrating the Pendo app with the C360? Pendo's [url=https://www.pendo.io/product/success-app/]website[/url] shows Gainsight displaying an awesome visualization of a customer's activity, which is usually only accessible [i]within the Pendo app. But I can't find any documentation about setting it up.
