Hi Gainsight Community

 

Here are few FAQ’s that I come across from Admin in the consultations call of Adoption Explorer. I thought of putting them here to help Admins!

 

  1. How to add new fields to AE project which is active and running when a new field is added to the source and can we load historical data as well to newly added fields? - When new fields are added to the source, these fields will appear in the AE objects, you just need to drag and drop them from the left to right side pane and save the source. You need run the project for historical dates to bring data to fields for older dates

 

  1. Can we schedule the Adoption Explorer project to run Monthly?

We do not option to run at Monthly, by default the adoption Explorer concept is to bring daily usage data. 

Though the usage data is coming monthly once, running it daily doesn’t impact anything because the zero records/no records are loaded on remaining days though project runs.

 

  1. Can we add custom layout filters to the layouts in Adoption Explorer?

Adoption Explorer is targeted to capture daily Usage data at Company/Person level. So you will see fixed global filters for Company, Person, date only. No custom filters can be added.

 

  1. Can we archive/Purge the Adoption Explorer data? 

We can archive the Adoption Explorer data by scheduling the archive rule by clicking the three bars buttons which appear beside the object name. This article has more information on that.

 

  1. What happens if the AE project is active but not scheduled? 

The Adoption explorer is scheduled to run daily if it is active whether you schedule it to run from Advance settings or not.

 

  1. What happens to the Adoption Explorer objects when the project is deleted?

 - If the project is deleted all the respective dependent objects get erased.

 

  1. How do we clone the entire layout in AE? 

We can’t clone the entire layout. How to achieve this is create a new layout and select “Add existing reports” by clicking edit button. This will allow us to reuse the existing reports.

 

  1. Can we add an additional source to the Adoption explorer project if the source is from PX. We cannot add more than one source if the source is PX, because this is OOB that Gainsight provides if the usage data source is PX.
