I should be able to link my managers and executives to Gainsight dashboards. My leadership team struggles to leverage and adopt Gainsight because they cannot easily find and navigate to what they need. When they discovered that there was no way to send a link to a dashboard they were shocked as this is a pretty basic function of most tooling. Having my C-levels underwhelmed with the tool is sad for all of us.

Hi@alisapagerduty : So, I’m guessing here, but you mean basically navigating to a dashboard, and then, grabbing the URL and emailing/messaging it to someone, correct?
If so, no, that’s not doable, but you do have a couple of options.

Hope that helps!
I like all of Heather’s suggestions and also want to add that dashboards should have unique links. Are you not seeing that? It is possible that when you initially navigate to “home” it shows a generic URL, but once you choose a new dashboard within home, you should see a unique URL per dashboard.
Spencer, the link does not change when navigating between dashboards. I do not want to ship images or PDF’s I do just want to share the direct link so that execs can easily navigate and dive in to the data.
Hi@alisapagerduty
There are two ways to achieve this today:
When you navigate between dashboards, a dashboard id is added to the URL.

I’m not seeing a way to do option 1- External link sharing? For option 2, does this work in the Lightening experience? The url does not change at all when I switch between dashboards so no unique identifier appears in the link to properly direct folks to a specific dashboard. If I share the direct url it simply takes users to the last dashboard they viewed.
Hi@alisapagerduty - Here is the info on how to share Dashboards via external link sharing: https://support.gainsight.com/SFDC_Edition/Reports_and_Dashboards/User_Guides/Share_Dashboards
This does not meet the criteria of my feature requests:
Hi@alisapagerduty - are your executives receiving the share link that is sent to them from someone else or are they initiating the share and sending a dashboard to someone?
On your first point, I’ll share this feedback with our docs team and see if we can improve the detail in the support page.
Is this actually Implemented as marked in NXT, at least in the intent of the original post? You still need to use the Share function, rather than being able to copy a direct hyperlink to a Dashboard AFAIK.
To that point, I completely agree with@alisapagerduty ‘s frustrations. I was so excited when I saw Horizon Dashboards would finally allow link sharing but became quickly disappointed when I saw just how frustrating the experience actually is.
I would not call this Idea “Implemented”, as it is moreso a partial fix.
In the SFDC version I was able to get this working with this format: https://{YOUR_INSTANCE}.lightning.force.com/lightning/n/JBCXM__Gainsight?0.source=alohaHeader/{DASHBOARD_GSID}
Today I tried with a solution and it is working super fine. I hope it will work for you too.
Note: This solution is for the users who are using Gainsight NXT on Salesforce ( managed package)
Workaround:
Inspect element the dashboard , we can find the Dashboard id starting with da in the logs like below.
Pick that id and add it at the end of your salesforce URL as below. That link can be shared to every one who have the access.
When we are logging in to NXT via gainsightcloud we are getting the unique URL for Dashboard and no issues there, We are facing this issue only when we are using NXT from salesforce.
Could that be possible from your side to give us the link directly by giving an option at DB? Instead of doing above efforts?

No one is going to tell an executive leader to start inspecting HTML code and find IDs
, so indeed I hope we can bubble this back up as a feature request.
We are also in need of this. I’ve tried every work-around I can find (grabbing link from token email), looking for dashboard unique id, etc. - all to no avail. We are using NXT via Salesforce and need a standard link for execs which routes to a specific dashboard each time the link is used. These users have Full/Viewer/Analytic licenses and should still be able to access other dashboards, the C360 and all other features that we make available to users that log in. Given the need to have full functionality, using Dashboard sharing is not optimal.
I’ve tried everything in this thread to no avail. We are also using NXT via Salesforce and need a direct link to share any dashboard with any licensed individual at any time; particularly managers and executives, but I also have use cases for the general user eg wanting to improve workflow and place a hyperlink to another dashboard anywhere I choose.
Upvoting, this is a consistent blocker with NXT via Salesforce
