Question

Is there a search configuration so that searching for a customer using a partial name succeeds ?

For example,

Account/Customer name is "One Big Account"

if you search on "Big" , there are no search results.   But if you search on "One" , the account is found.

Is that a current limitation of the search function, or is there a place to configure search to be a little "smarter/forgiving" ?

The default search is "Starts with" when you search in a customer box.  If you click on the left orange dropdown arrow, you can modify it to be a "contains" search.  Generally we recommend primarily using the Starts with since it is so much faster but the other option is there when you need it!

Is there a way to default it to contains?  Our execs and non-everyday users assume it will be like SFDC where it is moreso contains and not starts with which has been a little frustrating for them.
Did you ever receive an answer to this? Thanks!

There is not a way to default it to contains currently.  We default to 'starts with' primarily since it is a much faster search and are considering having it a sticky setting.
Awesome, thank you!

Hi Gainsight Product, I spoke to another customer last week who is interested in having the C360 search option sticky.  So if they change from "starts with" to "contains", that it would stay that way.  Please do advise if there's a significant change in search performance is expected as I think they would be interested to know that.  Thank you!
