In-app Messages and Role type Poll

With the v5.9 release, Gainsight can share in-app messages, polls, tooltips, and walkthrough guides. We're excited to roll out this new functionality as it allows us to provide product tips and contextual help, help new users get started, introduce new features, and guide users through a new task or process. 



We are asking users for their role with an in-app poll, so that we can share relevant in-app content with you in the future. We apologize that the poll popped up more than once for many of you. Responding to the poll does not add you to an email distribution list or mean that you've opted-in to any program. It simply allows us to share the right in-app content with you, as well as filter out information that's not helpful for you in the future.



We're also working to resolve an issue with the Configure Adv. Outreach Guide that prevents the complete guide from displaying. We appreciate your patience as we work through these matters.

Thanks for posting, Lila!  One suggestion we have from customers is to have this message included in the message.  It would be nice if users saw something along the lines of (NOTE: Choosing your role does not opt-in to any programs/email campaigns.  It simply helps suggest in-app messaging based on your role).  Can we think about adding this in a future release or patch?

Update 9/19/17: We temporarily disabled the Configure Adv. Outreach Guide in the guide center, while we troubleshoot the display issues.

Our first in-app walkthrough guide is now available in Gainsight. In CoPilot, we're offering an introductory walkthrough guide for Admins, to help familiarize you with the configuration process for Advanced Outreaches. You can access the guide whenever you need to from the tooltip icon next to the Adv. Outreach +Create button:

Hi @lila_meyer, is the in-app guides feature still available? I no longer see the referenced help icon in our SFDC Gainsight instance. I’m also having a hard time locating documentation on how to configure in-app guides and can only find this overview article on Gainsight Go. Thanks in advance!

Hi @sierra_evans We now offer in-app messaging in Gainsight CS using the PX application. However, some tooltips and walkthroughs were removed and haven’t been recreated with PX yet. If you’re interested in configuring your own in-app messages, you could do so using Enablement Engine
