Within Survey Participant object, create Advanced Outreach Participant ID as an ID field

Within the SF object Survey Participant, Advanced Outreach Participant ID is a text field instead of an ID.
I was working with a customer who was trying to join Participant ID from AO participants(Number,MDA) to Advanced Outreach Participant ID(text,SFDC). This is preventing a join between the two fields within rules.

The only workaround we can think of is
- Create a Number field in Survey Participant object
- Populate all the data from AO participant ID (Text field in Survey participant) into this Number field
- Use this Number field in the Rules to map with the other Number field from AO Participants object

This would need to be done via some sort of SF process and not the rules engine.

Alex, you have this slightly backward.

The issue is that the data type for the "Participant ID" in the AO Participant MDA table doesn't seem to be correct, and is in the MDA table as a "Number" type field, rather than an ID.  In the Survey Participant object in Salesforce, the "AO Participant ID" is listed as a "GS ID" type field.

Merging these two tables with this ID as the common identifier outside of GS is possible, since in Excel, I can change the data type to make them both the same, but I believe that the fact that the ID is listed in the AO Participant object as a Number field is a mistake, and it should be changed to an ID type field.

Unrelated, but it appears there's a spelling error in the "AO Participant Created by" field (spelled "AO Particiapnt"). Makes me think that the field type for the Participant Id was also just a mistake.

Just want to add to this....  In the Flattened survey tables in the MDA, this same ID is stored as a "string" field (picture me beating my head on the desk).

I'm trying to tie the outreach participants to the survey results, and it seems the only way to do it is to export all these different tables with different data types to Excel to be able to control the data format.
