What's the best way to populate the Manager field in the User standard MDA object? It's a GSID field type so I can't just populate it with the manager's SFDC ID. I was thinking of using a bionic rule to merge the manager's GSID with the CSM's GSID... is there a better way?
I'm ingesting data from S3, which contains dates in epoch format (unix timestamp). I was planning to use the DATE_ADD function to convert this to an actual date, but that only seems to function on a Date attribute with a fixed interval, while I have the opposite situation (fixed date: 1970-01-01, interval attribute, being the epoch time). Does anyone know how I can make this conversion, either in Rules Engine or via a Calculated Field on the object I write the data to?
Hello Gainsight Admin Community! Having the option to see percentages across an entire customer base in reports or combining multiple data sources is one of the most frequently asked requirements we hear from customers. We are going to calculate the % of customers flagged with risk grouped by segment/industry and CTA type. To achieve this we often need to combine several data objects from both MDA and Salesforce. This can be done by designing a simple data designer task and leveraging the dataspace created in the reports. Data Designer gives you the tools to do this, helping you merge and transform data from these disparate data sources to create a Dataset for your further analysis. For more information, I suggest reviewing this document: Data Designer Overview --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To start building your task, navigate to Administration -> Data Designer -> Click “New Design”. -
Hi There, Is there a way to move data from Gainsight into either a Google Sheet or Excel? I'm imagining something like what G-Connector does in Google Sheets where it automatically updates Google Sheets based off of a report in SFDC
Hello,When I try to use Gainsight Assist in my Outlook app, it shows me an error under the “Log Email to Timeline” option that says “Something went wrong! Please try again.”This is the New Outlook app on Mac. Any ideas?I’ve tried to remove and reinstall the ass in as well as close and reopen the Outlook app.
Does anyone else get this error in trying to connect S3 to Cyberduck and know how to connect properly? I've been able to connect previously but more recently i get this error. It happens on and off. I've restarted my computer, internet etc..
S3 Best Practices Sample job creation: *S3 Dataset Task in Bionic Rules: https://support.gainsight.com/SFDC_Edition/Rules_Engine/Admin_Guides/S3_Dataset_Task_in_Bionic_Rules *Use File Analyzer to proactively identify and resolve any issues in the file. https://support.gainsight.com/Gainsight_NXT/Gainsight_Analyzer/Admin_Guides/File_Analyzer_Admin_Guide S3 Job Recommendations: Use Bionic rules for data ingestion (for better error logging and/ or for further transformations before loading to target object) Enable archiving for future reference Enable post file upload to trigger rule - ‘Event’ based scheduling Ensure a minimum gap of two hours between file uploads. Whenever possible, break large files to chunks of 100MB for easy debugging incase of errors Use notification emails for the success/ failed jobs. File Naming conventions: Avoid spaces in the file names File name given in the job configuration and the file loaded in the S3 bucket should be same Ch
Gainsight has now added Viewer+ Analytics (paid) license which enables all stakeholders (such as Leaders or Sales persons) to better understand trends in your customer base with access to actionable insights that span your entire book of business. Users with this license can access additional features (than Viewer licensed users) such as Horizon Analytics Dashboards, CX Center (if purchased) and Renewal Center’s Analyze View (if purchased).IMPORTANT: Viewer+ Analytics license type only works with Horizon Dashboards. As an admin, you must migrate your tenants to Horizon Analytics in order to leverage this feature. Contact your Account Manager for pricing information of Gainsight license types. Business use case: Leaders or Sales persons want to access insights on the overall status of their customer base, or segments of customers. Admins can assign them this license type so they can view these insights through Dashboards, CX Center (if purchased) or Renewal Center (if purchased).Note: A
Hi folks, has anyone ever brought in Opportunity attachments (specifically PDF contracts) into Gainsight for CSMs to easily reference? The object I have narrowed it down to in SFDC is Attached Content Document; however, the Rules Engine a) does not actually let me query anything on it, and b) shows only Account and Customer Info as lookup objects, even though the attachments actually sit on the Opportunity. I’d like this to either easily live on the Opportunity related list as a link to download the PDF or create a separate related list with all attachments from SFDC (narrowing down by Type would be nice but can be dealt with).
Hi All, I am looking at a way to integrate Gainsight and Qualtrics. I know there is no connection today and I understand Gainsight has a survey tool. Unfortunately, our company has decided the only surveys sent from our org will be from Qualtrics. CSMs want to trigger a survey based on an action or CTA within Gainsight and pass basic contact information. My question for all of you folks is has anyone done much with the Gainsight API? Does this sound like something that can be done? Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions. And we cannot switch surveys to Gainsight :) Thanks,Mike
Has anyone set up an integration with a LMS? We use Docebo, so it would be great if anyone else has specifically worked with this tool. However, I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has set up any LMS at all. I’m looking to get some help with the architecture of this integration and curious to see how others have set this up. Thanks!
I've finally understood exactly how to upload data using the S3 connector to and MDA object. however, I was quite surprised when I was troubleshooting and searching the gainsight support site that formats starting with day (dd/MM/yyyy or dd-MM-yyyy) are not at all supported. this becomes incredibly annoying for me and our CSMs since we're based in Europe and most of our data in Salesforce uses this formatting instead of the classic American MM/dd/yyyy. It would be very nice and much more manageable if we could have this format supported. Thank you
Is it possible to use IF statements in a calculated field, and reference a related object? We have an object for Provisioned Services (which are basically professional service hours, purchased by the client) which are related to a Company. These have different departments, and also different Status’ (Provisioned, Fulfilled, Expired). Is there a way to get a roll-up summary with different slices such as; Customer Success Hours - Provisioned Customer Success Hours - Fulfilled On the Company level? I am currently doing it via Rules Engine every 2 hours, using a number of transformation/pivot tasks, which seems very cumbersome.
Dear Team, I am trying to create a connector job for fetching the details of a salesforce custom object, but most of the fields are not available for mapping the fields. Could you please let me know what could be the possible reason behind this. I am observing the same behavior in the rules engine, when I am trying to create a rule using salesforce connection. Also I can see there are other custom objects for which all of the fields are available. Request you to please help on this. ThanksManik

Hello, I am reaching out to see if there is any value on getting set up in Sandbox before Production. Just want to see if others utilized the Sandbox after the launch to Production. If you do have Sandbox, have you found it valuable to assist in your Gainsight process? Thank you for your help in advance.
We are looking into moving away from Gainsight Connect as it is pulling non-customer and inactive accounts into our Company object. Is there an advantage to using SFDC Connector 2.0 versus creating a rule to populate the object? Also, we found in the SFDC Edition documentation that if any data which was previously inserted into Gainsight from Salesforce, is modified in Salesforce, corresponding data in Gainsight NXT is updated. Is anyone using the SFDC Edition and can confirm SFDC record changes are pushed into Gainsight or if NXT is indeed required? Thanks.
