Want ability to view MDA Usage Data in Engagement Tab and "Usage" section of C360
Currently, you can only view SalesForce and Gainsight Data within the "Engagement Tab" and "Usage Section" of c360. We would like to marry this data to our MDA Data. For example, we would like to see if certain CTAs close, does this raise our product adoption. Currently, the Engagement Tab and Usage chicklet in 360 provide little value with our use case.
Suggestions for Person Admin

Gainsight Assist Error
Hello,When I try to use Gainsight Assist in my Outlook app, it shows me an error under the “Log Email to Timeline” option that says “Something went wrong! Please try again.”This is the New Outlook app on Mac. Any ideas?I’ve tried to remove and reinstall the ass in as well as close and reopen the Outlook app.
Adoption Explorer Setup
Hi! I'm trying to get a project setup with Adoption Explorer tool but have some questions/confusion on the process. First, if we already have usage data from our platform stored in the MDA, what does adoption explorer offer? Is it a more powerful reporting tool with better insights? Reading throught the overview article, it doesn't seem to be much different than reports I've already built out. Secondly, regarding the creation of the project - we have an S3 connection to our platform usage, which is stored in custom MDA tables. Should I be using the S3 bucket as the source or the MDA tables? The biggest issue it seems for this setup is that an 'Account ID' is not provided in the usage datafeed and I have to load that from Salesforce into the MDA which is required by the project setup. Can I get some tips/tricks or recommendations on how to best set up Adoption Explorer? Thanks!
How do I populate the Manager field in the User standard object?
What's the best way to populate the Manager field in the User standard MDA object? It's a GSID field type so I can't just populate it with the manager's SFDC ID. I was thinking of using a bionic rule to merge the manager's GSID with the CSM's GSID... is there a better way?
Adoption Explorer configuration
I’m trying to get Adoption Explorer setup and working, but so far no luck.One question I have that I cannot seem to find in the documention - what do you do if your Weekly Time Series data has more than one Unique ID? Using MDA Picklist values in External Actions
I am in the process of trying to create rules to transfer data to via External API, but running into a challenge when it comes to MDA picklist values. Gainsight Support has already enabled the backend flag that actual values to an S3 file It does not appear possible to use the actual values in an External API call.The only option is to create a Case Expression, but I have picklists with more than 10 options and GS Support says there is no way to extend that.There is also not a way to identify the corresponding GSID for each option, particularly if any of the options have never been selected before.Does anyone have any suggestions or alternative workarounds?
Zendesk and gainsight
We would like to know if it’s technically possible to build an integration to push data from Gainsight into zendesk. We are trying to keep our team in Gainsight as much as possible and recently rolled out zendesk for some of our internal teams, and would like for our CSM’s to enter data into Gainsight that then creates the tickets in zendesk. Not Sure if anyone has done this or if it’s possible but curious for thoughts!
Are Sandboxes important when working with Gainsight?

Load Opportunity Attachments from SFDC to Gainsight
Hi folks, has anyone ever brought in Opportunity attachments (specifically PDF contracts) into Gainsight for CSMs to easily reference? The object I have narrowed it down to in SFDC is Attached Content Document; however, the Rules Engine a) does not actually let me query anything on it, and b) shows only Account and Customer Info as lookup objects, even though the attachments actually sit on the Opportunity. I’d like this to either easily live on the Opportunity related list as a link to download the PDF or create a separate related list with all attachments from SFDC (narrowing down by Type would be nice but can be dealt with).
Google Analytics Foreign Key / corresponding ID is unfortunately & surprisingly case-sensitive
When setting up a Google Analytics integration, you pull in a field from Google Analytics that indicates the customer. In our case, it's called "abbreviation". In our case, it's called "Account Number". Create URL for Timeline Activity for Export
Is there a way to create a custom URL for Timeline activities that can be exported out?The hyperlinks in Gainsight are great, but they do not export out. We have some external reporting, and there are some pieces of data we can’t export (per company policy); it would be helpful to be able to export the Activity hyperlinks so users with permissions can be re-directed to Gainsight to drill into details where necessary.
Looking for some insights into how people are using Google Analytics with Gainsight
We use Google Analytics for our high level product analytics and had this set up to come into Gainsight. It stopped working some time back and I understand that there were some wider issues with Google that Gainsight we’re working on (that are still in progress). Was looking to see from the community how other people are using Google Analytics with Gainsight and what insights and tips etc they could share.
Unable to see new Dropdown category
Evening.We’ve set up a new dropdown list category in the company object and I’m trying to add it now to the activity types, as a new field. When I go into adding a new field, and the category selector I can’t see the new dropdown list I’ve added. This is using the “Configure for” Global setting.For the “Configure for” Company or Relationship setting I can see the new dropdown list in the category list but can’t edit existing activities.Any clues as to what I’m missing in the setup?Thanks in advance.
Problem with Copilot and Data Spaces
I was trying to create a CoPilot power list using Data Spaces, but but it gives me an error "No account reference found in 'OPS: Tasks and Actions'.Create a account lookup to Salesforce Account object to proceed." Our Product team has prioritized this issue and plan to make the fix available in the December Patch release."
Reflection of default values on fields.
Hi Team, Customer has reached out on the unavailability of default values on success plans fields. I reached out to the Success Plans team and they have confirmed that the default values won’t reflect as per the product set-up. As a follow-up questions, customer wants to know the other areas where the default values that are set on fields won’t reflect.I can find from the community post that dependent picklist too doesn’t support the default values as we may have a contradiction between Controlling field and the dependent field. Could you please share more information as to where else the default values won’t reflect?
Enable MDA Joins
I raised this issue to support, but figured I'd come to the community as well in case I get a quicker response. I want to enable an MDA table to use joins, but do not seem to have the capability on a particular table. But it does not tell me how to enable joins on an MDA table where Allow Joins is set to false. I cannot seem to find this explained anywhere else either. Hopefully I have just overlooked it. Data Management Beta: "Please wait while we are loading the schema"
I know Data Management is in beta, but does anyone else have this problem? When I click on one of the object names, i.e. Email Logs (which only has a little over 2000 records) I get the "Please wait while we are loading the schema..." message - and nothing ever loads. Ever. It just stays on that spinner indefinitely and doesn't even time out. Until I finally get irritated and kill Chrome. We have not rolled in the January 7th release yes, so still running on the last update. Maybe this issue will go away once we update?
Merge 2 dataset without join condition
Hi,I have one dataset with my company data and the standard deviation of one of these fields. I want to merge it with another dataset where I have only one record with the Average for the same field but for the whole population.If I merge them keeping the record with both dataset, I get one line with the average of the population but all the other fields blank and the other lines with all the fields filled in but the average of the population.Now, what I am trying to achieve, is to compare the average of the whole population with the value of the field per line. So what I need to do is to have that value repeated for each line.Any idea how can I achieve it?
Ready for Zendesk auto-linking - where should we store the unique ID
We're just configuring our Zendesk-SFDC feed, and It looks like 'ZD-org to SFDC-Account' linking is currently manual, with the help center suggesting auto-linking is a roadmap item. To future proof & be ready for auto-linking, there is a specific field in zendesk where we should be populating the Unique ID we use to match SFDC, platform etc to a Gainsight record?
