I understand that refreshing any sandbox is a great way to know that the configuration you are testing with is the same as the configuration in Production. However, the issue is refresh wipes out Sandbox changes. If we are spinning out the sandbox for our own development in first place. Why we want to get the latest changes from Production? Can this practice be made optional?
Is anyone familiar with the Salesforce Platform Events framework? I requested new Apex triggers in SF from our Salesforce Developers and they pushed back and would like to switch to using Platform Events which I have very little understanding of but I assume Gainsight would still be able to interact with it the same way it would with an Apex trigger. If anyone has experience using Platform Events and knows it works fine or can point to some documentation would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
Within Adoption Explorer, how can add a filter or otherwise limit the number of rows the AE job reads? My data team recently increased an already sizable table by 4x, bringing it close to 8 million rows daily. I know I will never need 7 million of those rows, because they include data not needed by Gainsight. However, I haven’t found a way to filter the number of rows the AE job reads. With a “read” filter, or some pre-ingest filter in place, I’d benefit from faster ingests and also a reduction in the processing power required by the AE tool by identifying logically which rows I know I want AE to process further. By “dropping rows” at the initial read, I can process and ingest a more targeted dataset, improving my ingest speed and decreasing the processing load.
Hey Folks, A recent discussion with a colleague centered around breaking down data silos for CSMs; specifically where conversations are held both in SFDC chatter, and in Timeline. Is it possible to ingest Chatter Data from the Account/Contact level from SFDC and show this in the relevant timeline in CS? I’ve taken a look in the support documentation, and in the community without success - hoping I’ve missed somethin. Thanks!
Hello! How do we delete actions on the External Actions? I’m performing a deep cleaning and there are actions that I no longer need and some support based ones too. And, also they randomly sort: not by name, not by last modified, not by last added. In general the External Actions needs a lot of work to just be user friendly - seems to have been coded in a rush.
The recent update has made the look and functionality poorer than what it was in previous version. I noticed that the names also changed. Object names changed from schema to fields and Data to Data operations. https://share.getcloudapp.com/2NumknLD and https://share.getcloudapp.com/9ZuoGbZE. Also, it is no longer possible to sort on any fields (acct name, email etc.). The space consumed horizontally and vertically, by each field is too much and thus we can’t see maximum records at any given time and requires too much scrolling.
Hello -We are experiencing issues when viewing the Error Log from the Connector jobs. We’re seeing that the file would contain header labels that are shown with System Internal Names rather than logical field labels that we explicitly define in Data Management. This creates extra steps for the end user when attempting to do any type of troubleshooting as the Internal Names are not helpful if a sync failed. Instead of field labels, it contains a code with prefix 'gsd'. There is not a way for us to make any sense of this log to troubleshoot. User would have to navigate away to Data Management and then look for the Internal Name id to match it and then find the corresponding Field label - this is poor user experience.Any idea why the headers don't reflect naming similar to Field Names? It's not good user experience to keep having to reference Data Management to find and match names with the ids.
Is data that lives in a Salesforce custom object editable from within Gainsight? Can a record on the object be created within Gainsight?
I have a team that works in Gainsight and another that works in Salesforce, and they both manage a piece of customer data. The data currently lives in Salesforce, but we want both teams to be able to edit it. Is it possible to edit or create a record on the SFDC custom object from within Gainsight?
The multi-select feature is poorly designed throughout. In rules engine/query builder, we have to build overly convoluted queries to be able to track NULL values and combine them with (OR condition) includes/excludes. It is also extremely difficult to leverage in any reporting considering the things we can or can’t do with it (can’t group by). It’s impossible to write to it without convoluted formulas to not override what’s already there. Everything about this feature is terrible. It needs an overhaul to start making sense and to stop requiring convoluted 20 steps approaches to get anywhere with it.
Has anyone successfully connected their Tableau instance to their Gainsight S3 bucket using the Athena connector? I have searched for the error message I’m receiving and it could be a number of different things including an incorrect domain. I used the same settings that I use to successfully connect via Cyberduck. Hi Gainsight Team, My name is Braden Evans and I lead technology and strategic partnerships at Transcend. I was instructed to post a thread here about our team building a new integration with Gainsight by your API support team. For context, we’re a privacy platform and our mutual customers have been requesting an integration between Gainsight and Transcend in order to automate privacy requests in accordance with privacy laws like GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, etc. Can someone please reach out to me to have a discussion on getting developer access for our team to spec and build? Happy to add more context here, or email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Best, Braden EvansHead of partnerships
Hi,This is Nitin from SurveySparrow and we’re looking to build a native integration with Gainsight. Can I get access to a sandbox from where I can explore the Customer Success product? Just wanted to know a few things about integrating our app with Gainsight.
In Data Management HA everything requires more clicks. Searching for objects and fields within an object is now behind filters. Some default filters are propped in the banner, but not all. It is so much easier to search for objects and fields in the non HA version with inline search for all data attributes. In addition, data editability and schema editability are not even attributes you can see about a field or object in the new version. In the new version, how do you find what actions are allowed on a particular field? At a glance, how do you know if you can delete a field or which fields are editable in an object? Finding dependencies is really difficult in the new version. In the old version, I can start typing a field name and possible results will appear. In the new version you have to type the exact field name to get results. I wish there is an option to permanently disable the banner. Edit object/fields are displayed even for system objects where nothing can be edited or deleted
I had not noticed the Job Chains tab in Connectors 2.0 until recently. I created my first chain with a bunch of Snowflake connector jobs. After adding the jobs to the chain, I went back to the Jobs tab to turn off the schedule for each of the jobs - but the jobs are not on that tab anymore. Can I assume that was intentional so we don’t maintain schedules for these jobs in 2 places? Also - will deleting a job from a job chain move it back to the jobs list (mainly so I can edit it if needed)?I just want to make sure I understand if that is by design so that I can maintain these jobs. Thanks!
When creating a new custom object using the Data Management console, I can change the field types if Gainsight picked up on the wrong format from the CSV file. In the Data Management Beta - when I try to change the field type that was picked up from the CSV file, it creates a new field in on the object which I then have to name (something other than the field I was trying to change). Is that by design? I tried to change the sample CSV to match the field types I wanted, but the beta was picking up string for some of my data fields - but I could not change field types in the beta.Wondering if this is as intended and I should just be creating objects/fields manually rather than trying to use the CSV sample file (once the current Data Management console goes away)
Admins can now sync data in real-time from Salesforce to Gainsight for the Account, Contact and Case objects. A maximum of three real-time sync jobs is supported (one job each for the Account, Contact and Case objects).IMPORTANT: To enable Real-time sync (BETA) for your Salesforce connector, please raise a support ticket. In the case of high demand, we will coordinate scheduling it for your Gainsight instance appropriately to ensure that we can closely monitor and gather your feedback. You will hear from our Product team once the feature is enabled.Business Use Case: The real-time sync feature ensures that when a record is updated in Salesforce, it pushes the updates to Gainsight immediately. For example, if the opt out attribute for a Contact is updated in Salesforce, this change will reflect in real-time for the Gainsight Person record. This helps users avoid sending any accidental emails due to a sync delay. For more information on how to create real-time sync jobs, refer to the Sal
Gainsight is delighted to announce that the Data Management Horizon Experience is available. Gainsight recommend using the new version as it’s simplified and has better user experience with the following newly added features:Summary Ribbon: Displays the total number of Standard, Custom, and Low Volume objects, as well as the total data size, on the Data Management homepage. Custom Views: To better organize objects, create custom views that group them into functional groups. Seamless object and dropdown creation flow: While creating objects or dropdowns, you can create, add, or delete fields. Review Changes: When you edit fields information of an object, you can review all the changes made before saving the information. Dependencies: View Object or Object’s fields dependency from all the application areas in a single page with minimal mouse clicks.IMPORTANT:You can access both old and new versions of Data Management in your tenant. Any metadata changes to one version will be reflected i
I tried to use the new Data Management Beta today - added a few custom fields to a custom object. When I saved it - the schema does not show the new fields I added in the beta. When I switched to the current Data Management UI - the fields I created under beta are showing here. Is there a trick to having the field list refresh in the beta?
So I have been getting quite a few requests in the past month or so regarding how to setup and maintain a Gainsight NXT sandbox and I have noticed that the associated documentation is rather lacking. One thing that isn’t discussed at all is that you do NOT have to refresh the gainsight sandbox if you do a SFDC refresh. If you have a bunch of assets in your current Gainsight sandbox tenant I suggest performing a “tenant repoint” where you refresh your SFDC sandbox and then log into your NXT sandbox tenant and simply reauthorize the SFDC connection (it will connect to the newly refreshed org id). Anyway, here’s a rough draft of accumulated best practices hopefully they’re helpful:Hit “Add Sandbox” --> this kicks off a Prod -> SB tenant copy Whoever kicks off this job will be the only user who can directly access the new NXT SB tenant initially Once you access the SB tenant directly, you need to go into Administration/Connectors 2.0/ Salesforce Connector and edit the connection det
