For the S3 Connector, is the ability to ingest compressed files, like GZip, coming?
Interested to know (after talking with some data engineers getting ready to push data to a connected S3 bucket): Does Gainsight have plans to add some common file compression/decompression options? In this case, allowing an encrypted GZIP file to be uncompressed after decrypting? Just passing the question/suggestion from a newer Gainsight customer that I couldn't answer - thanks!
Trying to find a drop down used in Success Stories
Hello! I’ve inherited an instance (SFDC) of Gainsight and am looking to update a drop down on our success story entries. They are entered in C360 as an alternative to success plans. The drop down list is a list of our product offerings that needs to be updated.I’ve gone into Data management / drop downs and am not seeing it there. When I go to one of my reports with that object in there, I can see the path as CTA Group. I’ve gone into CTAs and am not seeing it in there either. I’ve also looked at the configuration of the success story template and am not finding any clues there. Any ideas on how I can reverse engineer to find out where this drop down list is pulled from? TIA!
SFDC Chatter to Timeline
Hey Folks, A recent discussion with a colleague centered around breaking down data silos for CSMs; specifically where conversations are held both in SFDC chatter, and in Timeline. Is it possible to ingest Chatter Data from the Account/Contact level from SFDC and show this in the relevant timeline in CS? I’ve taken a look in the support documentation, and in the community without success - hoping I’ve missed somethin. Thanks!
Gainsight connect shows "Success" when records failed
This seems like a problem. Thousands of records failed, yet the job status shows it completed successfully. I'm on the 5.17 release.
Integrations: Data Load Configuration - how long does the aggregation step take?
I am trying to reload some usage data for our product into an object located in the Data Management section (the data loaded before had errors), and then I am running the aggregation step from the Integration section. But I have noticed really big differences in the time it takes for the integration to end, although I have a similar number of lines that are aggregated. It can take from several minutes to several hours, and I don't understand why. It's really hindering my work, because I don't know what I can count on.
Idea. Change the Quick Filter (Search) Section in the S3 Connector to Default to Contains, rather than Equals.
In other areas when you're doing a quick search using the area in the red box (in the image), it defaults to a 'Contains' search. But in the S3 it defaults to an 'Equals' search. Is it possible to change this search to a 'Contains' to match the other areas? Is it possible to view when a specific field was updated?
Good Morning- This is a related question from another thread I have running (https://community.gainsight.com/gainsight/topics/rules-engine-struggle-issues-writing-to-sfdc), however the information I'm seeking is different enough that it may warrant a different thread. I've traced the issue in the above link to a missing/inactive/broken data ingest. We're not updating our Opportunity Close Date with the close date from the newest/future open opportunity. Before I dive into adding this ingest, is it possible to see when this specific field was last ingested into Gainsight (i.e. when the Opportunity Close Date cell in the MDA for, example, client "Company X" was last updated)? I want to confirm that this field [i]is not currently being updated[i] before adding the ingest. Also, our CCO mentioned that last time the previous a
Gainsight Analyzer - Rule Dates not sorting chronologically
Gainsight Analyzer appears to be doing similar to this when sorting rule execution dates: Is sorting chronologically something we have to ask for as an enhancement every time or can we just assume moving forward that any date/time sorting should be chronological when the feature is developed?
The week starts on different days between Usage/Rules Engine and MDA
I just came across an odd situation. I was loading some data into MDA (creating zeros so the time series charts look right) and selected "first day of last week" as the date value. When I checked the file, the "first day of last week" according to the rules engine was 2/27/16, which is right because my Time Granularity under Usage Configuration is set so the week starts on Saturday. (Why Saturday? No idea... That's just what we did back when! :-) But when I group the data by week in the MDA report I get the week starting on 2/29/16. It's easy enough to fix in this use case, but it could through some people off so I thought it'd be worth highlighting.
Multi-Currency Impact in Gainsight
Admins can configure multiple currency codes, including one primary Corporate Currency code in Gainsight. All of the currency codes can be configured with a conversion rate with respect to the Corporate Currency code. This feature allows the currency data to be shown in the original currency code (as ingested into Gainsight) across Gainsight. A standard field, Currency ISO Code is created in all of the Gainsight objects to identify a currency code for all the currency values in every record.Business Use cases:For Multinational companies, CSMs work with customers across different regions. For each region, currency conversions are often in the local currency. Once Multi-Currency enabled, currencies are displayed in the local currency code. Targets for CSMs and sales are often set in their local currencies and hence the aggregated data is best understood if it’s presented in the local currency. Admins can ingest data from any CRM system with the original currency codes. You can also refer
Opt-Out Email Object - Be able to remove or add records via API
We want to set up a stand alone Customer Preference landing page that multiple email senders will use (Marketo and GS). Right now, the way of editing Preference Management is manual via the email validator. Has anyone implemented a similar solution using APIs to update the Opt-Out Emails object to manager customers preferences?
Auto Populate Company/Relationship Fields in Low Volume Object
While CSMs are creating a new record in a Low Volume custom object from C360/R360 > Related List (Report on Low Volume object), other fields having lookup to standard fields from Company or Relationship are populated automatically.Business Use case: If the Industry Type string field in the Low volume object looks up to a standard field in the Company object (other than Name and GSID), while adding a new record in the Low Volume object, the Industry Type field is populated automatically.Notes: Low Volume Object fields having lookup to a custom field in a Company or Relationship fields are not populated automatically. Previously, fields which look up to Name and GSID in the Company object were already auto populated. This enhancement is also applicable while adding a new record from the Data Operations page by Admins. For more information, refer to the Data Operations article. For more information, refer to the Overview of Customer 360 Details article.
Changing the Start of the Week Day in Usage Configuration
I am looking for the process to follow and what potential risks are to changing the "Start of the Week" day in Usage Configuration. When I first changed the day, all usage data disappeared from under Adoption pane. If day is changed, is it simply a matter of rerunning load to usage rules to repopulate data under new start of the week labels? Thank you for any advice and recommendations.
Gainsight Connect For Contacts
We are beginning to move over our Account Master Join table to the Company (standard) table that can be populated by Gainsight Connect. We were wondering if there are any plans to add a Contact standard table to the list, so that we can align our contact records in Gainsight without using a rule to populate our custom Contact MDA.
Using Salesforce Platform Events instead of Apex Triggers
Is anyone familiar with the Salesforce Platform Events framework? I requested new Apex triggers in SF from our Salesforce Developers and they pushed back and would like to switch to using Platform Events which I have very little understanding of but I assume Gainsight would still be able to interact with it the same way it would with an Apex trigger. If anyone has experience using Platform Events and knows it works fine or can point to some documentation would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
New Version of Data Management is available now!
Gainsight is delighted to announce that the Data Management Horizon Experience is available. Gainsight recommend using the new version as it’s simplified and has better user experience with the following newly added features:Summary Ribbon: Displays the total number of Standard, Custom, and Low Volume objects, as well as the total data size, on the Data Management homepage. Custom Views: To better organize objects, create custom views that group them into functional groups. Seamless object and dropdown creation flow: While creating objects or dropdowns, you can create, add, or delete fields. Review Changes: When you edit fields information of an object, you can review all the changes made before saving the information. Dependencies: View Object or Object’s fields dependency from all the application areas in a single page with minimal mouse clicks.IMPORTANT:You can access both old and new versions of Data Management in your tenant. Any metadata changes to one version will be reflected i
business intelligence universe for gainsight aws specification data
Hello Gainsight Community,We are building a universe (business intelligence/business objects) from the export of the Gainsight AWS bucket files as per the Gainsight AWS specification online.I seek your knowledge on the architectural design of the universe. The simple joins by account id, identifier id, as well as also in master data engagement id and master data feature id… is not enough. That design gets us one path to list the account, user, ..engagements, or list the features, or list the external events for a product. In one universe, I am looking for pulling all tenant, all product, engagements, features, events, surveys, etc. into one business objects report. Or even if I go into Power BI, the same thing. or even if I go into Access. Has anyone combined data in one universe, etc. to allow overall reporting of Gainsight data for the company? Thanks for your help.Janine
Bring back inline search in Data Management Horizon
In Data Management HA everything requires more clicks. Searching for objects and fields within an object is now behind filters. Some default filters are propped in the banner, but not all. It is so much easier to search for objects and fields in the non HA version with inline search for all data attributes. In addition, data editability and schema editability are not even attributes you can see about a field or object in the new version. In the new version, how do you find what actions are allowed on a particular field? At a glance, how do you know if you can delete a field or which fields are editable in an object? Finding dependencies is really difficult in the new version. In the old version, I can start typing a field name and possible results will appear. In the new version you have to type the exact field name to get results. I wish there is an option to permanently disable the banner. Edit object/fields are displayed even for system objects where nothing can be edited or deleted
Add ContractID to records
Hello! Wondering if anyone can advise me here. I’d like to track and correlate activities in Gainsight to the contract active at that time on the account. Basically how does our CS work (realizing/verifying outcomes, doing QBRs, completing projects, etc) drive the result of the contract? Upsell, downsell, churn, etc.My initial idea was to add an “active contract” field to the company object (done), and then hopefully find a way to copy that value (not reference to it as it is dynamic) to the record in question. My GS experience isn’t extensive, so I am still trying to understand the Object schema and how they relate to each other, so couple of questions:Am I looking at this the right way from a logic perspective? Is there a built-in feature that would allow us to do this already? Like Journey orchestrator, or milestones? If not, would it be best to pull that to a CTA? I do care about calls, emails, etc. but primarily, I care about high value work (or lack thereof) and how that impacts
