The multi-select feature is poorly designed throughout. In rules engine/query builder, we have to build overly convoluted queries to be able to track NULL values and combine them with (OR condition) includes/excludes. It is also extremely difficult to leverage in any reporting considering the things we can or can’t do with it (can’t group by). It’s impossible to write to it without convoluted formulas to not override what’s already there. Everything about this feature is terrible. It needs an overhaul to start making sense and to stop requiring convoluted 20 steps approaches to get anywhere with it.
Looks like in a recent update, the sort of the schedule time in S3 execution history treats time as a number not as a time. This example shows that it is sorting 1PM before 10AM on the same day. I know Data Management is in beta, but does anyone else have this problem? When I click on one of the object names, i.e. Email Logs (which only has a little over 2000 records) I get the "Please wait while we are loading the schema..." message - and nothing ever loads. Ever. It just stays on that spinner indefinitely and doesn't even time out. Until I finally get irritated and kill Chrome. We have not rolled in the January 7th release yes, so still running on the last update. Maybe this issue will go away once we update?

Has anyone successfully connected their Tableau instance to their Gainsight S3 bucket using the Athena connector? I have searched for the error message I’m receiving and it could be a number of different things including an incorrect domain. I used the same settings that I use to successfully connect via Cyberduck. Hi. we have a new person that will handle Gainsight, and I assigned her a license in Production. We don't want her touching the data in Prod until she learns the ropes, so I had to create her in our full sandbox because we're in between refreshes. When I tried to assign a Gainsight license in the Full sandbox, I didn't see the Manage Licenses link under the Installed Packages section like I do in Production. Is there a way to assign licenses in the full sandbox, or do I have to wait for a refresh? Thanks, Joe
Is there a way to track a Gainsight account to Salesforce account that is linked to a different Salesforce account. Or - is there a better way to get around this situation? We need to figure a way to have the new brand have its own GS account and fire CTAs even though there is no Salesforce account Company A is the parent account of multiple brands we work with: Company A, Company B, Company C and now Company D. The Comany A account in Salesforce used to represent Company A only, and separately to this, we had a Salesforce account for Company B, and a Salesforce account for Company C. This worked well with Gainsight, where they each had their ARR, their CTAs, and their usage and so on. We have now brought a new brand on board: Company D. They signed on the same paper as the other brands and were therefore merged to the Company A account in Salesforce, instead of having their own separate account. This is causing issues for CS, as Company, a brand new customer, don't have their o
Hi there,Gainsight newbie here and slowly getting the hang of things! We use the timeline on the C360 to add risks as an activity type. I was wondering if anyone had any experience in setting up a connection with this in a slack channel? Ideally I would like it so that every time a new risk is added, our account managers can see this in the slack channel, is this possible?I have spoken with GS support on this and sadly I am really struggling to get a clear answer!
We have just launched the Person object - very excited about this and more features coming soon! Is there currently a way to be able to assign multiple relationships to each contact? We also have Relationships live in each C360 and I would like our CSMs to be able to assign different relationships to each contact. For example: Customer ABC has three R360s - Blue, Green and Red John works for ABC but he is only involved in Blue and Green, never Red. Is it possible to add a field in Person section in C360 that would allow to select the two relationships and assign them to John? Our R360s refresh on daily basis so aren't a static list, at the same time we have over 500 relationships so I would like to be able to have a drop-down list for CSM to use, rather than typing the actual names/relationship IDs directly. The main objectives of this are: - ability to see which contacts belong to which relationships - something we don't have yet - direct various datasets
Hi Team, Customer has reached out on the unavailability of default values on success plans fields. I reached out to the Success Plans team and they have confirmed that the default values won’t reflect as per the product set-up. As a follow-up questions, customer wants to know the other areas where the default values that are set on fields won’t reflect.I can find from the community post that dependent picklist too doesn’t support the default values as we may have a contradiction between Controlling field and the dependent field. Could you please share more information as to where else the default values won’t reflect?
Has anyone successfully integrated Absorb (a Learning Management System) as a data source for Gainsight? We know when we run analytics that users who complete the Certification programs we have built are more engaged and better adopters of our platform. The request is arriving for me to integrate Absorb as a Gainsight data source. Thus, we could spot Opportunities (we're seeing a high number of certified users, so our Sales team should be prepping to sell more seats) or Risks (a customer completely stops enrolling its users in Certification, often a sign of a competitor). Thus far, I've successfully integrated with SegmentIO, but this Absorb request is another beast entirely. Any ideas from the crowd?
We want to set up a stand alone Customer Preference landing page that multiple email senders will use (Marketo and GS). Right now, the way of editing Preference Management is manual via the email validator. Has anyone implemented a similar solution using APIs to update the Opt-Out Emails object to manager customers preferences?
Hello - We have a metric that we track regarding logins, and we want it to show as blank or null if there are no active users yet because technically they could have a 0% login rate with active users which is different than 0% with no active users. I’m trying to create a calculated field on the company object. I’ve tried many different versions. All so far will show 0% even when there are no active users. I’ve tried =null, is not null, =0, ... case when Active_Users is null then null else Unique_Login / Active_Users end Thanks
Hi guys. We have a web portal and separate native mobile app that we use Google Analytics for tracking analytics. For the mobile app, it’s using “GA4” which no longer has the views from Google Analytics and as I understand it the views are what are used to bring the data into Gainsight through Adoption Explorer. I believe GA4 is the latest version for Google Analytics, and would love to know how others have managed to get the data from GA4 into Gainsight. The local Gainsight team are trying to find out from Google directly for us but nothing back yet. Thanks Jason
Hi All,I am a Product manager for Data management in Gainsight. We are planning to revamp following tabs in Data Management -Dependencies Object GraphCould you pls help in providing with following feedback - What data do you look for / the most common usecases for which you visit Dependencies & Object Graph? How often do you see data on Dependencies & Object Graph? How can we improve your experience for viewing data on Dependencies & Object Graph? Is there any way to identify company key/primary contact? We have a usecase where we want to auto send email from GS program to only one contact per company/account who have attended ABR call. For ex. we can create new field under “Company Person” object of boolean type “Is Primary Contact” and if there is already any contact present which is marked as “primary contact” then it should not allow user to make any second contact as primary. (only any one contact can be marked as primary contact per account).
Anyone else seeing this error message? Error message manifests within Zendesk on the Gainsight App. For one reason or another just today, the Gainsight App stopped working in our instance of Zendesk. Causing headaches since we are just ramping up and cannot link accounts in an adhoc fashion. I'm having a lot of trouble getting my internal IT team to agree to enable permissions for GS Connect. Wondering if anyone ran into the same and how they were able to convince their team to enable. Happy to expand more on where the concern is coming from. I've already attempted unsuccessfully to lay out the problems we are running into without it enabled. Hoping someone may have some additional suggestions.
In Rules Engine we do not have date filters in terms of quarters as in report builder, here I came with the workaround on how to do that. Let us see some use cases that need Quarter as the date filters: Pull the number of unique logins happened in last quarter and create CTA if usage drops Number of meetings CSM had with the customer in the quarter and draw insights about Engagement Number of support tickets raised by the customer in the last quarter and decide the support score based on that. To solve these use cases, we should be able to filter based on quarters. But since we do not have that we tend to use last 90 days data but might not give the same data unless you are running the rule on the first day of the current quarter. So, there is simple work around to pick data quarter-wise: i) To pull the data of previous quarter: From the data set where pull the date fields, do not apply any data filter. Just pull in the date field into the show section. In the next transformat
When setting up a Google Analytics integration, you pull in a field from Google Analytics that indicates the customer. In our case, it's called "abbreviation". Screenshot: http://cl.ly/1X1J1Y1S2h08 You then indicate which Salesforce Account field corresponds to that Google Analytics field. In our case, it's called "Account Number". Screenshot: http://cl.ly/3g272c0O1T0f Unfortunately, when Gainsight aggregates the raw data into the "Day Agg" table, it performs a [i]case-sensitive match between our "abbreviation" and "Account Number". Some Accounts, therefore, have ended up without any aggregated Google Analytics data. I didn't realize that behavior when we were setting it up (it's not noted in the documentation http://cl.ly/0x0F2u2q3E3H, and I did this setup live with our Project Manager, who either didn't know or think to mention it), and n
Database schema with primary and secondary keys to build external to Gainsight product universe for reporting
Greetings Gainsight Community, I am looking for a database schema with primary and secondary keys. I need this to be able to build from the 18 or 19 exported Gainsight tables. I am building a product universe for reporting and increased dashboarding with other company data outside of the Gainsight environment. Thanks for reviewing my post. All contributions are very welcome as it will be more than I had today when I posted this question.Hope your day is filled with joy and fun!
We have redesigned Connectors 2.0, powered by Gainsight Horizon experience. We will soon migrate existing tenants to the Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience) which is more intuitive and simple to use. If you want to upgrade your tenant earlier to the Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience), please contact Gainsight support.Note: By default, all the new tenants will have Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience). The following are the advantages of Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience):Merge Data: Merge data from the two source objects and then sync with Gainsight. Merge data option is available for BigQuery, Pipedrive, Zendesk, Jira, Freshdesk, Intercom, Zoho and Zuora connectors. Create Jobs: Easily drag and drop source objects to create a job and sync data with Gainsight in the Jobs Preparation page. Job Chains Page: Simplify the process of scheduling a group of dependent Jobs that you need to run in a particular sequence. For more information on the Connectors 2.0 with Horizon Experience, refer
My goal is to have an MDA object being upserted, but I can not tell GainSight which field should be updated and which one should be created. As you can see in the image below I sent twice the same file with 3 records and they duplicated. Here is the MDA object Keys So, how can i set these Keys to upsert this MDA object with my CSV file?
