Currently in Gainsight NXT when you refresh your sandbox from prod, the data desginer designs do not copy over from prod. While Gainsight can do this with the help of our TechOps team, the request is that this be done automatically to make the refresh process more streamlined.
We use Google Analytics for our high level product analytics and had this set up to come into Gainsight. It stopped working some time back and I understand that there were some wider issues with Google that Gainsight we’re working on (that are still in progress). Was looking to see from the community how other people are using Google Analytics with Gainsight and what insights and tips etc they could share.
We have data that gets updated daily - and sometimes certain usage data is upserted.Is there a way to use two filters for upserting the data in AE vs Global filter.Example: count of a particular telemetry in history can change based on modified date and hence needs to be pulled into GS based on this field.However, the usage metric needs to use a different field (say created date) for timebased usage count. Has anyone encountered or solved a similar criteria? AE doesn’t seem to honor two different fields.

Admins can configure multiple currency codes, including one primary Corporate Currency code in Gainsight. All of the currency codes can be configured with a conversion rate with respect to the Corporate Currency code. This feature allows the currency data to be shown in the original currency code (as ingested into Gainsight) across Gainsight. A standard field, Currency ISO Code is created in all of the Gainsight objects to identify a currency code for all the currency values in every record.Business Use cases:For Multinational companies, CSMs work with customers across different regions. For each region, currency conversions are often in the local currency. Once Multi-Currency enabled, currencies are displayed in the local currency code. Targets for CSMs and sales are often set in their local currencies and hence the aggregated data is best understood if it’s presented in the local currency. Hi Party PeopleHas any tried to embed a low volume MDA to the R360? We notice when doing so, the relationship ID does not auto-populate and the user is supposed to copy/paste the Relationship ID from the url of that account. (yuck)This is not the same behavior when the low volume MDA table is embedded in the C360. When embedded in the C360, the Account ID is auto-populated.Is there a trick to this that I am missing. Its very clunky to expect users to copy/paste the RID from the URL, especially when the account ID populates automatically when the low volume MDA is embedded in the C360. Has anyone else experienced this?
Our back office team merged a bunch of SFDC accounts. Contacts etc have been merged into the “master” accounts and those details brought into Gainsight under the master record. However, we still have all of these duplicate accounts I am trying to merge into the new “master” in Gainsight. As a part of the merge process, the system requires that you check the box for merge company person data. The issue, is that since SFDC already pulled in the merged data, merging in Gainsight seems to me duplicating the old company person records under the master - even though they were already brought in through the merge in SFDC and subsequent push to Gainsight.Is there a way around this? Do I really have to choose between losing customer information in Gainsight (not merging in GS) and duplicating a ton of company person records (merging in GS)?
Sometimes we need to clone MDA objects - to create similar objects with minor changes.Ex: Weekly and Monthly data capture objects - same structure and same metrics at a different granularity. If we export fields with headers and try to create fields with that list - we are running incorrect datatype issue. If a field has null values, datatype can’t be determined. If a field has only 0s and 1s it’d shown as a boolean. Similarly URL fields can be shown as strings and percentage fields as numbers. Hence, it’s better to have a clone object facility.
I am trying to understand the best practice around limiting the number of Data Anomolies we have, specifically with the number of accounts with no customer info value. I know that it can occur with validation rule errors that impact Gainsight from updating the CustomerInfo field, but it is happening on a large number of accounts and then impacting the creating of new Relationships.Besides going in and manually fixing each record is there a best practice around getting to the root of the problem so it lessens?
We want to trigger a process in SFDC where CSMs add a record to a low volume object, and then a ticket for a different team is generated from the MDA record in SFDC. Is it possible to have SFDC trigger off of this directly from GS? We do not want to recreate the object in SFDC and create the admin overhead of multiple custom objects and rules
Hello Gainsight Admin community,In this post let us understand what is the difference between Company and Unified Scorecard Fact- Company objects in Gainsight by discussing a couple of use cases. Company: This is a Gainisight Standard object that stores data of the Companies in MDA. This object is used in Scorecards 2.0, Surveys 2.0, and Journey Orchestrator modules as a lookup to tie records at individual level.Unified Scorecard Fact-Company: Multiple Scorecards can be assigned to each Company. Every scorecard has multiple Measures which are assigned with individual scores. Records of each score for the respective measure for a specific company inherited from a specific Scorecard is stored in this object. Points to remember: Unified Scorecard fact -Company object holds data at the scorecard level. So for a given account, multiple scorecards might be applied at different stages and hence this object holds all the details of corresponding scorecards. Whereas Company object holds data
Admins can now fetch metadata of Gainsight Objects and Fields using Rest APIs. Customers who have the development resources can use these APIs to build tighter and more customized integrations between Gainsight and their systems/applications. For more information on how to use these APIs, refer to the Data Management APIs article.Business Use Case: When a customer wants to integrate their application with Gainsight. The customer would want to understand how the data is stored in Gainsight, that is the structure of metadata in a Gainsight Object. Such customers can use these APIs to fetch the metadata and get an understanding of it, without logging into the Gainsight application.
Dear Team, I am trying to create a connector job for fetching the details of a salesforce custom object, but most of the fields are not available for mapping the fields. Could you please let me know what could be the possible reason behind this. I am observing the same behavior in the rules engine, when I am trying to create a rule using salesforce connection. Also I can see there are other custom objects for which all of the fields are available. Request you to please help on this. ThanksManik
While CSMs are creating a new record in a Low Volume custom object from C360/R360 > Related List (Report on Low Volume object), other fields having lookup to standard fields from Company or Relationship are populated automatically.Business Use case: If the Industry Type string field in the Low volume object looks up to a standard field in the Company object (other than Name and GSID), while adding a new record in the Low Volume object, the Industry Type field is populated automatically.Notes: Low Volume Object fields having lookup to a custom field in a Company or Relationship fields are not populated automatically. Previously, fields which look up to Name and GSID in the Company object were already auto populated.This enhancement is also applicable while adding a new record from the Data Operations page by Admins. I'm ingesting data from S3, which contains dates in epoch format (unix timestamp). I was planning to use the DATE_ADD function to convert this to an actual date, but that only seems to function on a Date attribute with a fixed interval, while I have the opposite situation (fixed date: 1970-01-01, interval attribute, being the epoch time). Does anyone know how I can make this conversion, either in Rules Engine or via a Calculated Field on the object I write the data to?

Hi AllI am trying to share a success plan externally and have followed all the instructions provided by Gainsight articles and the community page advice however it does not seem to be working for me. Any advice?Here are the steps taken: First Step: Followed instructions laid out by GiansightEnsure Success Plan sharing external is enabled Add person if they do not already exist. Give it 24 hours, since adding a person, to share the plan.This did not work Second Step: Option 1:When a Person is added, their data is automatically added as a user in Gainsight; however, their "license type" is not updated.When trying to update the user license type from "unlicensed" to "viewer," the "Update" button will not highlight to allow me to update that setting. This did not work! Option 2: Create a Permission Bundle that allows SP sharing externally and add users in that bundle.This did not work

Hi all, we’re using UI Views > Customer 360 to edit what’s available to our support team using the Gainsight widget in Zendesk. They need to be able to see more than 10 fields as appears to be the current limit. Are there any workarounds or custom configurations for this?
All the data management reports within Gainsight NXT need to have the ability to be “sticky”. I am referring to the User Management and Company-->Data Operations pages at least (They seem to be using the same reporting/code structure). In both pages, the search is not sticky so anytime you refresh the page or go into a record to edit it, the page resets completely and you lose all your filters, search results, or place within the search results. This makes it very difficult to manage records when you dont want to create a rule to change the values for only a few records.
Hello - We have a field in our zendesk labeled “Form” it’s a standard field built off the template forms. We use this to track product type for our core products. Is this field part of the standard integration? I don’t see it in any reporting choices.
Hi Success Superstars- I’m curious learn more about if/how you’re using Gainsight and Salesforce Einstein together. A couple of scenarios we’ve heard about so far: Triggering actions in Gainsight based on Einstein predictions Improving Einstein predictions by including customer engagement data/insights stored in Gainsight. If you’re using Gainsight & Salesforce Einstein together, I’d love to learn more about what you’re doing. Please let me know in the comments below.
