In the Snowflake Schema - CLOSE_DATE, CREATED_DATE, & MODIFIED_DATE_LAST are all DATE FormatWhen I query in Snowflake – I am receiving DATE-formatted data, ie. 2021-01-28When I add this OBJECT in the SNOWFLAKE CONNECTOR – those 3 fields are showing a data type of “date-time”I have tried to ingest that data into a destination of an MDA Object with the fields formatted as DATE on the MDA object and no values come over for these fields and then formatted as DATE-TIME on the MDA Object, no values come over for these fields. It appears I cannot change the field type on the object when I add it to the snowflake connector.Has anyone seen anything similar and/or have any guidance?
Hey Everyone,Tomorrow (January 28th) is Privacy Day (or Data Protection Day). And no it’s not a GDPR thing. It’s actually much older: 2007 when the Facebook, YouTube or Google Analytics of the world were about 2 years old. H***, Gainsight wasn’t even born yet 😅. Now in 2023, there are ton of new privacy regulations popping up worldwide - in the US, since most of you fellow contributors are US-based, it involves California’s CCPA becoming the CPRA and Virginia, Connecticut, Colorado and Utah to name those I’m personally aware of. Even third-party 🍪 are dead. Not mentioning the long awaited ‘updates’ to the EU ePrivacy Directive or Regulation (or whatever they’ll end up calling it, but could change a lot about what’s acceptable (or not). I find this day to be a good time for all of us system owners to stop and have a look at how we and our teams live by the Privacy by Design principles* we (should) have embedded into our CS Ops practices. For me it generally spreads two pillars:Governan
Anybody ever been frustrated with external reporting when it comes to your Gainsight instance? If you’re like me, you always have executives reaching out asking for new dashboards, reports, or exporting Gainsight data to another system such as Salesforce or Snowflake. Talk about frustrating!!Using Gainsight’s API, I created a data integration service that can pull in GS objects such as company, person, and CTA into a business intelligence tool called DOMO. No more worrying about S3 bucket exports, this tool is extremely easy to use and only requires an API key (you can generate this in admin on the Connectors 2.0 page). If you’d like to give the integration a test drive, you can sign up for a free trial of Domo here: https://www.domo.com/start/partners (if you are already an existing Domo customer, this connector is free and can be found in the AppStore). Here’s a walkthrough on how to get the connector set up: .If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me on the Global Gain
Curious if I am just missing it or if there is no way to report on it today, but I would like to use the Associated Persons linked to a CTA in order to drive automation. These were available in SFDC edition and I assumed the functionality would be replicated in Gainsight NXT.
In Data Management HA everything requires more clicks. Searching for objects and fields within an object is now behind filters. Some default filters are propped in the banner, but not all. It is so much easier to search for objects and fields in the non HA version with inline search for all data attributes. In addition, data editability and schema editability are not even attributes you can see about a field or object in the new version. In the new version, how do you find what actions are allowed on a particular field? At a glance, how do you know if you can delete a field or which fields are editable in an object? Finding dependencies is really difficult in the new version. In the old version, I can start typing a field name and possible results will appear. In the new version you have to type the exact field name to get results. I wish there is an option to permanently disable the banner. Edit object/fields are displayed even for system objects where nothing can be edited or deleted
Is it possible to add Tags as a mass? The use case is, that we want to put customers to certain baskets (based on their release waves as an example) and adding a tag one by one is time consuming, as each of the accounts needs to be opened into the Edit-mode.Am I over-looking some easy trick to do this?
Hi,This is Nitin from SurveySparrow and we’re looking to build a native integration with Gainsight. Can I get access to a sandbox from where I can explore the Customer Success product? Just wanted to know a few things about integrating our app with Gainsight.
We mainly use the Salesforce connector to ingest new Company records, however, we have a new subsidiary that is not yet in Salesforce, so I need to add via CSV. In #3, when IO click Add Record, there is no option to Upload CSV File.Navigate to Administration > Data Management. Click the name of the required object and click the Data tab. Click Add Record and select Upload CSV file. In case of high volume custom objects, click Add Record via CSV. In the Add Record via CSV file slide-out panel, you can either drag and drop the file, or click browse to select the required file from your computer. The maximum permissible file size is 1 MB. Note: Gainsight recommends that you first download the Sample CSV f
We want to set up a stand alone Customer Preference landing page that multiple email senders will use (Marketo and GS). Right now, the way of editing Preference Management is manual via the email validator. Has anyone implemented a similar solution using APIs to update the Opt-Out Emails object to manager customers preferences?
Connectors area in Gainsight seems to be unstable. More often than should be acceptable I come into Connectors area and it refuses to load… What can be done so that this is more stable/reliable? I’ve already moved Company Person syncs out of Connectors… guess I’m gonna have to move them all out.
Hello -We are experiencing issues when viewing the Error Log from the Connector jobs. We’re seeing that the file would contain header labels that are shown with System Internal Names rather than logical field labels that we explicitly define in Data Management. This creates extra steps for the end user when attempting to do any type of troubleshooting as the Internal Names are not helpful if a sync failed. Instead of field labels, it contains a code with prefix 'gsd'. There is not a way for us to make any sense of this log to troubleshoot. User would have to navigate away to Data Management and then look for the Internal Name id to match it and then find the corresponding Field label - this is poor user experience.Any idea why the headers don't reflect naming similar to Field Names? It's not good user experience to keep having to reference Data Management to find and match names with the ids.
Hello community,I want to share this python script that will work to take all language translation files in a directory and bulk upload for one to many engagements for a given api key. currently, the api key must be hard coded. However, you can expand to include spinning through an api list if needed. I currently do not need this functionality… yet… :)# import the python libraries for use. import requests import os import sys #---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Program Operational Guidelines: load all engagement translated files in bulk to many engagements for an api key. # This program will look at the current directory where the python script is stored and upload all translated files for an engagement. # It doesn't matter what status the engagement is in albeit completed or paused. And it doesn't matter which translation state the document is in. # This has been a
Is there any way to identify company key/primary contact? We have a usecase where we want to auto send email from GS program to only one contact per company/account who have attended ABR call. For ex. we can create new field under “Company Person” object of boolean type “Is Primary Contact” and if there is already any contact present which is marked as “primary contact” then it should not allow user to make any second contact as primary. (only any one contact can be marked as primary contact per account).
Has anyone successfully connected their Tableau instance to their Gainsight S3 bucket using the Athena connector? I have searched for the error message I’m receiving and it could be a number of different things including an incorrect domain. I used the same settings that I use to successfully connect via Cyberduck. I am struggling to understand a couple of things around the SFDC and Gainsight integration. It seems that there are 3 methods of integration. Connector 2.0 Rules Engine (Bionic Rules) Real-Time Rules I am struggling to understand the use case for using each one of these.
My team has never used the “active” checkbox in SFDC because they are worried it won’t be accurate in GS. Has anyone run into any issues with the accuracy in checking the active box in SFDC? We want to pull data on only active accounts, but my SFDC team just let me know they have never used that box. Thoughts?
