We want to trigger a process in SFDC where CSMs add a record to a low volume object, and then a ticket for a different team is generated from the MDA record in SFDC. Is it possible to have SFDC trigger off of this directly from GS? We do not want to recreate the object in SFDC and create the admin overhead of multiple custom objects and rules
Gainsight has now redesigned Snowflake Connector to make it more intuitive and simple, powered by the Gainsight Horizon experience. You can now create Snowflake data jobs from the Jobs List page. Navigate to Administration > Connectors 2.0 to create a Snowflake connection. For more information, refer to the Snowflake Connector article.Note: If you have enabled Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience) in your tenant, then you can establish a Snowflake connection directly in the Connectors 2.0 page instead of the Adoption Explorer page.
Gainsight has now added Viewer+ Analytics (paid) license which enables all stakeholders (such as Leaders or Sales persons) to better understand trends in your customer base with access to actionable insights that span your entire book of business. Users with this license can access additional features (than Viewer licensed users) such as Horizon Analytics Dashboards, CX Center (if purchased) and Renewal Center’s Analyze View (if purchased).IMPORTANT: Viewer+ Analytics license type only works with Horizon Dashboards. As an admin, you must migrate your tenants to Horizon Analytics in order to leverage this feature. Contact your Account Manager for pricing information of Gainsight license types. Business use case: Leaders or Sales persons want to access insights on the overall status of their customer base, or segments of customers. Admins can assign them this license type so they can view these insights through Dashboards, CX Center (if purchased) or Renewal Center (if purchased).Note: A
In Rules Engine we do not have date filters in terms of quarters as in report builder, here I came with the workaround on how to do that. Let us see some use cases that need Quarter as the date filters: Pull the number of unique logins happened in last quarter and create CTA if usage drops Number of meetings CSM had with the customer in the quarter and draw insights about Engagement Number of support tickets raised by the customer in the last quarter and decide the support score based on that. To solve these use cases, we should be able to filter based on quarters. But since we do not have that we tend to use last 90 days data but might not give the same data unless you are running the rule on the first day of the current quarter. So, there is simple work around to pick data quarter-wise: i) To pull the data of previous quarter: From the data set where pull the date fields, do not apply any data filter. Just pull in the date field into the show section. In the next transformat
Hi All, We are working on an application which uses Gainsight NXT APIs. We were able to find API documentation for Costumer, person and custom object APIs but not for Bulk and event APIs. Can someone help us pointing to the right API documentation. Below is the link which we are referring to get the API details, here we don’t find Bulk and Event API details. https://support.gainsight.com/Gainsight_NXT/API_and_Developer_Docs/Bulk_API/Gainsight_Bulk_API Regards, Sridevi
1. Quicker Loading of Metadata from Salesforce ObjectsGainsight has improved performance of loading metadata from Salesforce objects. The Salesforce metadata will be automatically stored and refreshed every seven days. This enhancement will get the information faster from Salesforce.Admins can manually refresh the Salesforce data by clicking Refresh Metadata from the context menu of Salesforce connection in the Administration > Integrations > Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience) > Connections tab.Notes: Admins must manually refresh the metadata to see the new custom Gainsight Object or fields added in Salesforce. This feature will be enabled for all customers in a phased manner after the 6.27 release. To enable this feature in priority, contact Gainsight support. For more information on Salesforce connector, refer to the Salesforce Connector article.2.Out of Box Jobs for Freshdesk and ServiceNowGainsight has added two Out of box Jobs (OOB) to sync important data such as Tickets
Sometimes we need to clone MDA objects - to create similar objects with minor changes.Ex: Weekly and Monthly data capture objects - same structure and same metrics at a different granularity. If we export fields with headers and try to create fields with that list - we are running incorrect datatype issue. If a field has null values, datatype can’t be determined. If a field has only 0s and 1s it’d shown as a boolean. Similarly URL fields can be shown as strings and percentage fields as numbers. Hence, it’s better to have a clone object facility.

Admins can configure multiple currency codes, including one primary Corporate Currency code in Gainsight. All of the currency codes can be configured with a conversion rate with respect to the Corporate Currency code. This feature allows the currency data to be shown in the original currency code (as ingested into Gainsight) across Gainsight. A standard field, Currency ISO Code is created in all of the Gainsight objects to identify a currency code for all the currency values in every record.Business Use cases:For Multinational companies, CSMs work with customers across different regions. For each region, currency conversions are often in the local currency. Once Multi-Currency enabled, currencies are displayed in the local currency code. Targets for CSMs and sales are often set in their local currencies and hence the aggregated data is best understood if it’s presented in the local currency. Admins can ingest data from any CRM system with the original currency codes. You can also refer
Is it possible to have one file in a S3 bucket be sent to a both the MDA and trigger a S3 rule? I want the dataset to be imported and cause an action within the platform but i also want to store the dataset in a Gainsight Data Object. What’s the best way to do this? Have the S3 rule get triggered once the file lands in the S3 bucket and then export it back out to the same S3 bucket with a different filename where it then can be imported into the MDA?
All the data management reports within Gainsight NXT need to have the ability to be “sticky”. I am referring to the User Management and Company-->Data Operations pages at least (They seem to be using the same reporting/code structure). In both pages, the search is not sticky so anytime you refresh the page or go into a record to edit it, the page resets completely and you lose all your filters, search results, or place within the search results. This makes it very difficult to manage records when you dont want to create a rule to change the values for only a few records.
Is it possible to use IF statements in a calculated field, and reference a related object? We have an object for Provisioned Services (which are basically professional service hours, purchased by the client) which are related to a Company. These have different departments, and also different Status’ (Provisioned, Fulfilled, Expired). Is there a way to get a roll-up summary with different slices such as; Customer Success Hours - Provisioned Customer Success Hours - Fulfilled On the Company level? I am currently doing it via Rules Engine every 2 hours, using a number of transformation/pivot tasks, which seems very cumbersome.
Hello - There are a few customers that we need to create a relationship for in Gainsight that cannot be created with our existing rule. I thought I could create a relationship record manually by adding it to the relationship MDA in Data Operation but that did not work. Is there a way I can create these relationships without running it through a rule?
Hi team, We had one of our customers finding it hard to find the Slack Avatar table for pulling some data. The table has been renamed as “Companyname”_User. So they were having a hard time identifying the object as the name doesn’t really say much and there is no description available. So would it be possible to Change the name of the table to something that says it is related to Slack? And also to add a description? Let me know your thoughts.
Customer is using COVID assets from Solution Marketplace. One of the dropdown asset is ‘Vertical’. Verticals listed in this list should be alphabetized. You can argue that you can upload an alphabetized list. But what happens when they add more verticals? The list will get out of order. It is a simple ask from the customer and will greatly improve their experience.
I love GS Analyzer so much. Could we enlarge the reports on all the Config Home drilldowns so that you can see more records without having to scroll as much? There's a lot of white space there. Thank you! Gainsight's Analyzer tool is a powerful tool that all Gainsight Admins should get familiar with. We have thorough documentation on the ever-expanding capabilities Analyzer provides. What I'm here to do is provide three quick tips for common scenarios that can give you a chance to get your feet wet with Gainsight Analyzer. It can be hard to figure this out from just looking in the UI of the Rules Engine. Luckily, the Rule Analyzer makes this easy to find out and also dig deeper into the execution summary if needed. Hello - We have a field in our zendesk labeled “Form” it’s a standard field built off the template forms. We use this to track product type for our core products. Is this field part of the standard integration? I don’t see it in any reporting choices.
We have redesigned Connectors 2.0, powered by Gainsight Horizon experience. We will soon migrate existing tenants to the Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience) which is more intuitive and simple to use. If you want to upgrade your tenant earlier to the Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience), please contact Gainsight support.Note: By default, all the new tenants will have Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience). The following are the advantages of Connectors 2.0 (Horizon Experience):Merge Data: Merge data from the two source objects and then sync with Gainsight. Merge data option is available for BigQuery, Pipedrive, Zendesk, Jira, Freshdesk, Intercom, Zoho and Zuora connectors. Create Jobs: Easily drag and drop source objects to create a job and sync data with Gainsight in the Jobs Preparation page. Job Chains Page: Simplify the process of scheduling a group of dependent Jobs that you need to run in a particular sequence. For more information on the Connectors 2.0 with Horizon Experience, refer
Dear Team, I am trying to create a connector job for fetching the details of a salesforce custom object, but most of the fields are not available for mapping the fields. Could you please let me know what could be the possible reason behind this. I am observing the same behavior in the rules engine, when I am trying to create a rule using salesforce connection. Also I can see there are other custom objects for which all of the fields are available. Request you to please help on this. ThanksManik
Admins can now fetch metadata of Gainsight Objects and Fields using Rest APIs. Customers who have the development resources can use these APIs to build tighter and more customized integrations between Gainsight and their systems/applications. For more information on how to use these APIs, refer to the Data Management APIs article.Business Use Case: When a customer wants to integrate their application with Gainsight. The customer would want to understand how the data is stored in Gainsight, that is the structure of metadata in a Gainsight Object. Such customers can use these APIs to fetch the metadata and get an understanding of it, without logging into the Gainsight application.
Hello Gainsight Admin community,In this post let us understand what is the difference between Company and Unified Scorecard Fact- Company objects in Gainsight by discussing a couple of use cases. Company: This is a Gainisight Standard object that stores data of the Companies in MDA. This object is used in Scorecards 2.0, Surveys 2.0, and Journey Orchestrator modules as a lookup to tie records at individual level.Unified Scorecard Fact-Company: Multiple Scorecards can be assigned to each Company. Every scorecard has multiple Measures which are assigned with individual scores. Records of each score for the respective measure for a specific company inherited from a specific Scorecard is stored in this object. Points to remember: Unified Scorecard fact -Company object holds data at the scorecard level. So for a given account, multiple scorecards might be applied at different stages and hence this object holds all the details of corresponding scorecards. Whereas Company object holds data
