Bring back inline search in Data Management Horizon
In Data Management HA everything requires more clicks. Searching for objects and fields within an object is now behind filters. Some default filters are propped in the banner, but not all. It is so much easier to search for objects and fields in the non HA version with inline search for all data attributes. In addition, data editability and schema editability are not even attributes you can see about a field or object in the new version. In the new version, how do you find what actions are allowed on a particular field? At a glance, how do you know if you can delete a field or which fields are editable in an object? Finding dependencies is really difficult in the new version. In the old version, I can start typing a field name and possible results will appear. In the new version you have to type the exact field name to get results. I wish there is an option to permanently disable the banner. Edit object/fields are displayed even for system objects where nothing can be edited or deleted
business intelligence universe for gainsight aws specification data
Hello Gainsight Community,We are building a universe (business intelligence/business objects) from the export of the Gainsight AWS bucket files as per the Gainsight AWS specification online.I seek your knowledge on the architectural design of the universe. The simple joins by account id, identifier id, as well as also in master data engagement id and master data feature id… is not enough. That design gets us one path to list the account, user, ..engagements, or list the features, or list the external events for a product. In one universe, I am looking for pulling all tenant, all product, engagements, features, events, surveys, etc. into one business objects report. Or even if I go into Power BI, the same thing. or even if I go into Access. Has anyone combined data in one universe, etc. to allow overall reporting of Gainsight data for the company? Thanks for your help.Janine
January 28 is Privacy Day - let's discuss data protection best practices
Hey Everyone,Tomorrow (January 28th) is Privacy Day (or Data Protection Day). And no it’s not a GDPR thing. It’s actually much older: 2007 when the Facebook, YouTube or Google Analytics of the world were about 2 years old. H***, Gainsight wasn’t even born yet 😅. Now in 2023, there are ton of new privacy regulations popping up worldwide - in the US, since most of you fellow contributors are US-based, it involves California’s CCPA becoming the CPRA and Virginia, Connecticut, Colorado and Utah to name those I’m personally aware of. Even third-party 🍪 are dead. Not mentioning the long awaited ‘updates’ to the EU ePrivacy Directive or Regulation (or whatever they’ll end up calling it, but could change a lot about what’s acceptable (or not). I find this day to be a good time for all of us system owners to stop and have a look at how we and our teams live by the Privacy by Design principles* we (should) have embedded into our CS Ops practices. For me it generally spreads two pillars:Governan
Special characters in a STRING field in Data table?
Attempting to upload data into a String field that contains (<5TB) but it’s getting truncated after the ( Is that because it sees the < as a special character? I tried escaping with a backslash but that didn’t work either. Should I be able to use < in a field?
Where is the Generate cURL button from Data Load Configuration?
I have created a new table to store a file with some daily usage data, and I would like for the file to be uploaded automatically to this table. When Gainsight was implemented in my company a cURL was given to the Product Analytics department to be able upload data automatically into MDA. But now I don't know where the cURL is. Has something changed? Data Spaces: Documentation has incorrect navigation to get to Data Spaces
This is relatively minor but thought I'd point out that GS documentation incorrectly states that Data Spaces is located under Administration -> Analytics, when it appears under Administration -> Operations (at least in my org) https://support.gainsight.com/Product_Documentation/Data_Management_and_Integrations/Data_Spaces/Data_Space_Creation_and_Consumption https://support.gainsight.com/Product_Documentation/Data_Management_and_Integrations/Data_Spaces/Tut...
Global filters on dashboard
Hi,I have made a report using data designer and need to add global filter to the dashboard it is being added to.Though I have fetched the fields on which i need filter and that too of the same data type as that of the reference field mapped to but still i am not able to see my field while mapping in global filter for that report.Any one has idea about it how to solve this thing
Identifier fields in MDA object
Hi, I created a new MDA table to store product usage data and I want to be able to configure fields as identifiers of the table. I want 'Account ID' and 'Date' to be the identifiers of the table. How can I do that? When creating the table I didn't see an option for that. Also, Data Load Configuration is used to push data to MDA object? If I'm using the Rules Engine in order to store data to my MDA on a daily basis, do I need to use the data load configuration as well? Thanks, Aviv.
Trying to find a way to readjust how the usage graph's default Y axis is values.
I am trying to find a way to readjust how the usage graph's Y axis is set. It seems to change automatically change the default Y axis values depending on the usage it finds but it typically does not represent the data very well. Is there a way to change this?
Does anyone know if the "Load Snapshot to Engagement every month" works retroactively? We have usage info from previous months and are exploring using this Engagement feature soon to track score history. Any idea is it will show us previous months' scores or just the most recent, previous month? Thanks!
Sorting & Field display while creating calculated fields via Data management
While creating calculated fields in MDA object. Complete field names are not displayed we need to hover on the field to know the value. The fields are also not displayed in a sorted order. If i have many number fields then creating a calculated field becomes a time taking task
Compare old/new data when updating a MDA Object
I ́m updating a MDA Object thru Bulk API from a CSV file, but i need to compare the old data and the new, how can i do that? For example: Send my CSV file containing: Client: Dell Available licences: 50 Used licences: 20 Then, a month later i send my CSV file again: Client: Dell Available licenses: 50 Used licenses: 15 It ́s important for us to be aware of this decrease when updating the object, is that possible?
Join MDA Tables On Date Field
I have a use case in which I would like to be join together two MDA tables based on a "Date" Field. For context, I am capturing things like "Daily tickets created, Resolution, Bugs, etc." at both the Micro (customer level) and the Macro (org level) as a snapshot in the MDA. While my Micro table has an account ID the Macro table shouldn't, which is by design. My thought process here was that I could Join Macro -> Micro on "Date" which is the common field in both tables. The use case here would be that I could create one singular report and overlay (for example) the specific customers daily "Average Overall Resolution" time vs. our overall customer bases "Average Overall Resolution" time is. I can do this in two reports today, would just rather have it in one singular report.
Data type conversion should either be disabled or handled once an object is created
Currently we are allowing users to change data type of a field through COM if there is no data in the object. But this change is happening only in Mongo and not in the redshift table. Because of this, there are lot of errors through out S3 and data load API connectors. I believe that this should either be disabled or handled properly. Once the redshift table is created, we should disable data type conversion even if there is no data. Or when the data type conversion is made through COM, we should automatically create a new column with same name and the required data type, and then delete the older field. Or we should have a flag that shows if there is any mismatch between data types between Mongo and Redshift tables.
Data Spaces and Survey Answers
I'm trying to pull a report of customers and their responses to a specific customer. I'm using Data Spaces and the Survey Allowed Answers object. I'm able to add in the information I want, but when I go to report on it, the fields I need info from (account object fields) are showing up as not having any. Any one else having issues with this? SnowFlake Connector (Horizion Experience) - Does Scheduled Job Import All Data or only Last Modified?
Within a SCHEDULED job in the SnowFlake connector, is ALL DATA fetched by default? Or is only data updated since the last job run date fetched?I don’t see anywhere to specify which to retrieve when configuring a SCHEDULED job. That option is only presented if I run a Job On Demand. We’re required to specify the Primary Key and Reference for last modified date when creating the job, so I’m guessing that a scheduled job only fetches modified records, but I’ve not seen this expressly documented one way or another. Thanks!JJ
