Hi Team,

We need 'Azure Data factory' connector for the upcoming requirement to simply our data architecture in Gainsight. Could you please help us when it will be available in Gainsight.

Thank you,

Badari

Hi @badari

Is Azure Data Factory a data store by itself or does it use any other DB’s to store data?

Azure Data Factory is ETL tool.

Azure Data Explorer is a fast, fully managed data analytics service for real-time analysis on large volumes of data streaming from applications, websites, IoT devices, and more. Ask questions and iteratively explore data on the fly to improve products, enhance customer experiences, monitor devices, and boost operations. Quickly identify patterns, anomalies, and trends in your data. Explore new questions and get answers in minutes. Run as many queries as you need, thanks to the optimized cost structure.

Azure Data Factory is a cloud-based data integration service that allows you to create data-driven workflows in the cloud for orchestrating and automating data movement and data transformation.

We are fine with Azure Data Factory or Azure Data Explorer connector but we need it at the earliest.

Could you describe the end-end usecase of how this might look? Integrating with ETL tools is not a request we hear regularly, so business value + how as an admin you would configure helps a lot.

I suspect as with most systems, ultimately data is stored somewhere, like SQL server or files in a bucket, etc. Is this understanding right? If yes, where is the data stored? If not, the answers to the above questions help.

Currently, we are using API to pull data and its time consuming. Hence, we are looking for direct connect options to pull the data.Hope, Gainsight Admin will connect through the daily jobs/events.

Data stored is Azure Data Explorer.

Here are list of connectors to get data from Azure Data Explorer. We are looking Azure Data Factory or Event Grid.

Got it Bardri.

We do have open requests to support Azure blob storage, looks like you are also proposing Azure Data Explorer as another source. Will only supporting Azure Blob storage work for you?

Blob stroage has existing open issue for connecting  like timescale and its not useful to connect our data.

Thank you for the link.

Thanks for sharing the link but blob storage have timescale open issues.
