Switching Timeline Types

Our CS team would like to be able to adjust the type on a timeline entry. The reasons why this comes up: 

  1. Sometimes they choose the incorrect type when logging something in timeline. We have a few scorecard measures that work off of specific timeline types so if they choose the incorrect one, the measure has potential to be incorrect. Ex. we are looking at last engagement date for the last time a phone/meeting was logged. if they choose update instead of call/meeting, this wouldn't get calculated into the health score. 
  2. As we have been building out our adoption of Gainsight, we have added new types along the way. We have some things that have been logged that we would've like to be able to re-categorize under these new types.

Ability for admins to bulk edit activity types is planned for Q3


@nitisha_rathi is there an ETA on the bulk edit of timeline activities? What criteria will be able to be used (i.e. subject line)


To help, there are a few use cases we have that are facilitated by allowing administrators to bulk edit activity types:

  1. We use the Gainsight Assist outlook app extensively since the bulk of our communications are through email. We would love to be able to create rules to categorize incoming emails into the appropriate activity types so we can then begin to generate reports and provide ease of search to the CSMs.
  2. We want to be able to take existing items in Timeline and recategorize by activity in bulk as admin. Right now,  most of our activities are email since we use Gainsight Assist so much.
