The admin documentation on Quick Insights mentions :
Limitation: The report configured in the Quick Insight does not get automatically or manually updated when the same report is modified in the Report Builder page. 'An Exception Occurred' error message appears when the modified report type Quick Insight is queried in Slack.
It seems like in practice, there is no error message though and the report is just out of sync with the updated one from report builder. It's pretty hard to remember to update the Quick Insights whenever you modify one of the related reports. It would be great if this limitation could be resolved.

With the upcoming changes, the ability to mark or unmark a report as quick insight will be done directly from the report builder.

Happy to announce that your request has been considered and included as part of the v6.22 release (SFDC / NXT). Gainsight has now upgraded the Sally Quick Insights feature with the Horizon Analytics Report Builder to increase the adoption of the Quick Insights feature in Sally.
IMPORTANT: Customers who have access to Sally and are onboarded to new Horizon Analytics will only be able to access the upgraded Quick Insights in Slack.
This feature is implemented in both SFDC & NXT versions.
