Reporting on timeline notes with attachments

I would like to be able to report on timeline notes that contain an attachment. That is not possible right now, but would be a great use case.

Hi Mary, can you explain a bit more about why this would be useful? What would you do with this data?

We have 600 timeline notes in the last 60 days; there’s no discernible way to see what artifacts (decks, whitepapers, etc) are being used (attached) etc from a management perspective.

Example - we expect our account transition template deck to be customized to the customer, shared, and attached to the note; but I can’t see all those from top down

Hi,

Will showing a field “Attachment available - yes/ no” for each activity help?

Yes I think that would be really helpful! Especially if it’s reportable.

Thanks for giving your inputs. I have added it to the roadmap.

@nitisha_rathi is there any timeline to see when this can be implemented? That will be really useful for us to identify QBR decks in timeline activities.

Thanks

It would be nice to also be able to have the links to the documents so that they can be pulled in to the report and allow a leader to just click the link to open the document vs going to the activity and then having to open it.

Thanks for sharing your inputs. This is on our roadmap but we may not get to it in the short term.

@nitisha_rathi any update on the timelines of roadmap? Similar to @pam @t.uzel @mpayne our execs are looking to be able to access the QBR decks.

Our CSMs use timeline in CTA to attach QBR decks to the CTA’s timeline. Some other CTAs are also used where other types of files are attached. We hope to be able to report on the files attachments itself based on the CTA reason as a filter to show the desired files in one view in C360 for our management.

Right now even if we create a report of the timelines entries using Data Designer to filter which ones contain attachments - it does not allow us to easily see these files with a link. @Ravinder Singh

Similar use cases where people have asked for reporting on timeline attachments.

To add another customer perspective - This feature will make it much easier to find our decks from within the C360 or R360.

Also being able to report on file status can allow us to generate reports where we can easily access key documents within the customer account.

Example: Timeline activity = Email. Subject = Quarterly Report. Attachment = yes.

This way we can see whether the QBR deck was sent and when.

We can also create reports that indicate QBR decks are missing or unsent/overdue.  There are occasions where we have our quarterly business review and hold on the report because something came up in the review and we need to wait for information (such as quotes for expansions, invoicing challenges)

@nitisha_rathi Is there an update on this request?  Our use case is a little different, but the ability to get access CTA attachments is a pain point for our CSMs.  Before NXT, we stored CTA attachments in a Chatter group in SFDC.  CSMs would go there to look for content they could use in their presentations.  We have lost that ability entirely, and are trying to find a solution to enable sharing again.

This would be a powerful report filter!

Use Case: We have a scorecard measure for a CS Process that requires the completion of a template. That template is planned to live on the scorecard measure timeline via Attachment. We have a time frame to complete this activity.

The ability to see “Attachment” Y/N flag AND/OR “Attachment File Name” text field is critical for EMT and Leadership reporting.

Please update all on this request.

@anirbandutta
Can you help consolidate the various asks on this topic for clearer voting and updates.

ASK: Ability to report on Attachments on Timeline entries.

Also push where you can to add this enhancement.  Great feature for the teams to leverage via Timeline, but limits process and enforcement with the lack of visibility.
