Changing email opt out reasons

Related products: None

Currently, when modifying the opt out reasons as described in this article the displayed text gets displayed but it does not change what gets reported in the unsubscribed table in the MDA. There seem to be baked in reason for each number. The following are the reasons followed by the default displayed text

I never signed: "I never signed up for this mailing list"

emails inappropriate: "The emails are inappropriate"

emails spam: "The emails are spam and should be reported"

no longer want : "I no longer want to receive these emails"

other: "Other (fill in the reason below)"

It would be nice to be able to configure those baked in reasons for reporting purposes.
Yikes, that is very confusing. Have other customers not run into

this issue before? Do people not typically change them? The help article

explicitly states you can edit them, so I’m glad you will be adding verbiage

that states those changes won’t appear in the reporting.

 Potential solutions

  • The abbreviations should equal the full text from the canned

    language

  1.  “I never signed” should show as "I never signed up for this

    mailing list"

  • Add the # to a field you can report on

  1. I never signed up for this mailing list shows as a 1 in the

    report

  2. The emails are inappropriate shows as a 2 in the

    report

  3. The emails are spam and should be reported shows as a 3 in

    the report

  4. I no longer want to receive these emails shows as a 4 in the

    report

  5. Other (fill in the reason below) shows as a 5 in the report

  • Code it to repopulate with the reasons we edit to show <---most

obvious., but probably not the easiest
