LRM Start and End Date

We have a customer that does not have a start and end date because of this they did not show up in LRM.  We understand that this is the reason why it did not populate, but we are not able to add a start and end date because they did not add a subscription.  It would be nice if we could figure out a way to populate this record without a Start and End Date.  We are not able to populate this because this will mess up reporting within SFDC.
