Idea: Ability to define JO Program "Types"

CTAs and Timeline Activities have Types, why not JO Programs? It would be helpful if we could assign Programs a “type” similar to CTAs and Activities so that we could categorize, group, compare Programs by type for reporting purposes. 

 

Ideally we would be able to add and define our own custom types like we can for CTAs and Timeline but I’m sure there are some common default Types as well.

 

For context, this idea came up while working with our Customer Marketing team on some Program-related reports.

 @nitisha_rathi not necessarily just for separate teams. This would make it easier to compare and build reports for reviewing the success of our various programs.

In the meantime, maybe you can use a common prefix in the program name for certain types of programs and use this to report on them together.

@nitisha_rathi @sai_ram thank you for the suggestion! while it is a viable workaround, JO Program Names are not editable after publishing, so it is not possible to implement this workaround for already active programs unless we start from scratch. 

Outside of the suggested workaround, is this still an enhancement that can be considered? Reporting on JO programs is overly complex, needing to find the right fields on the right objects to assess program success. This simple enhancement would help our organization understand program effectiveness at different points of the customer journey (ie, Onboarding, Realizing Value, Renewal...)

It’d be so much easier to just specify a particular “Program Type” field for reports.


+1 - Would love to be able to categorize programs, and would add we should have the ability to create our own not just OOTB categories.

Sort of like the “custom” field in the contacts app on a phone. System defaults don’t work for everyone.

 

Also… we should have the OPTION to directly tie these categories to our Opt-Out categories, to make setting up a preference center seamless. But, and this is a big but… this should be optional, and should be able to be applied on a case-by-case basis. My preference would be disabled by default, with the option to enable a connection.


We need to be able to report on programs, broken out into voice of customer, operational, customer marketing, etc. 

Right now we have different individuals creating and managing these programs to I start to segment journeys based on who created the program. But this is limiting if for example someone leaves, or if one program manager is covering for someone on vacation.
