Change colors in heat map report

Related products: None

Hi Team,

It would be great, if we can change the colours in the heat map report. One of my customer has report where the heat map colors are inverted for the purpose of report, where high numbers are poor than low numbers. User need high numbers to be red and low to be green.

Here's the sample screenshot of what report shows currently : https://cl.ly/175cd0ff12be

Can we change the colors as larger counts to be in red (not green), and the smaller counts to be in green (not red) ? Also, custom colors feature works only with pie and bar charts , but not with Heat map chart report.

Best,

Hardik

For scenarios where the the values represent instances that are not desireable, reversing the color scheme of the heat map so low numbers are green (few instances) and high numbers are red (a lot of instances).

In general, having the ability to set the config on heat maps or any other report type would be really helpful.

e.g. similar to the request here: https://community.gainsight.com/conversations/report-conditional-formatting-5d3224bde4b00474137fee6b being able to configure conditional formatting in reporting would make reports and dashboards a lot easier to quickly digest the data presented.

Interesting feedback. What do you think @rakesh ?

Thanks @hardik_mota for posting this. Interesting feedback indeed. Will once go through the configurations to see what can be improved about heatmap

Agreed Hardik--the current color configuration defaults to low numbers being bad--high numbers being good.

We run into similar challenges with Churn reporting. CSM's who have the "highest churn" are green--we'd like to them be red.

We'd like to upvote for two reasons: (we use the heatmap to show the status of each onboarding program)

1. We have CSMs who physcially aren't able to see the red/green combo

2. The red makes people feel like something isn't done even if it's not overdue.

Our ask is to allow for the colors to be chosen by the admin to accomdate accessiblity needs and personal preferences if possible.

@hardik_mota Thanks for posting, changing this to an idea post and redirecting this to our product team.

@sai_ram @hardik_mota We also have a similar use case.

On one of our report, we would like to show values falling between -3 to 3 as Green and similarly different ranges for Yellow, Orange, Green.

If this is still under consideration, could not please pass this feedback to your product teams?

Also, an ETA would be appreciated.

Hi @rakesh & @sai_ram !

Can you please let us know the exact status of the request? I see that status is mentioned as “implemented”? Is it pushed to prod?
