Additional Filter Option in Data Designer - Field 1 'contains' the value in Field 2

Related products: None

We’ve come across a situation where we’d like an additional filter option in Data Designer. Using the ‘value’ option there is the ability to use ‘contains’ logic. However, when you switch to looking at ‘field’ that option is removed. We have a situation where we’d like to filter a report/dataset to show line items where Field 1 has been concatenated and we only want to show the line item if that concatenated field contains the value located in Field 2.

Hey @katie_b, thank you for posting this. We will have our Product Manager  look into this and see if the additional filter option could be made available.

Hi @katie_b

Thanks for posting this. I understand that contains in field to field comparison can be a good addition to the filtering capabilities in Data Designer.

Can you also share the usecase / what you are planning to accomplish with this ask?

@rakesh We have a field on our contract object that concatenates the SKU Grouping for all line items on the contract. We’re building a report to allow our solution managers to see all of the upcoming renewals they are responsible for in one place and want to pull in things like scorecard metrics, renewal related timeline activities and other relationship level info. We only want to pull in the info for those relationships that are included on the particular contract up for renewal, as our customers can (and frequently do) have separate contracts for our individual relationships. Since our contracts to not tied directly to the relationships in Gainsight we need to use the logic ‘if SKU Grouping for the Relationship is included in the concatenated SKU Grouping field on the contract then include the data in the dataset.’
