Add ability to link objects to custom dataset created from DataDesigner

It would be great to look up to Company object or other MDA objects from datasets created in Data Designer.

We have a dashboard that displays reports from a created dataset that includes company ID, but it does not look up to any MDA so the global filter that works on reports on standard datasets does not work on those reports. It is a little clunky - users use the global filter and then on a couple reports have to do a search.

Hi Andrea,

Since the technologies here are different, we cannot add lookups adhoc for Data spaces like we do for MDA objects. However, good news is that for the usecase you shared, we do not need lookups, we can achieve it by Mappings. In our last release of Data Designer, we auto-import mappings. Detailed information on how you can leverage this is in this support document. https://support.gainsight.com/SFDC_Edition/View_More_Categories/Data_Designer_(BETA)/Admin_Guides/Preparation_Details_in_Data_Designer_(BETA)#Mappings

Note: You need to bring in ID along with name field from inside lookups (Example: expand company id lookup, select GSID and name) till the last node and automatically you can create Company global filter. Feel free to reply here if you need any more assistance or if this is not working for you.

I was able to get the filtering to work by bringing in the IDs for user, company etc
