Restrict Export Access

Related products: None

We would like to see the ability to restrict export access to a specific group of users. We would want them to be able to review reports, and dashboards, but do not believe it is necessary that they have the ability to export.

Hi Chris,

Is this specific to Reports (in a dashboard) or is this a generic ask across any data export from Gainsight?

Is it possible for you to share more specific usecases around this?

I think @chris_mudd is talking more about the C360 page export dropdown.

@chris_mudd could you please reply to @rakesh. To understand it better we need a use-case.

@chris_mudd need your input here to proceed further.

We also have this need. We’re currently onboarding, but this is identified as a data risk for us as we want to restrict which persons/groups (initially will just be admins) that can perform any type of data export across the platform.

@HollySimmons We will enhance the permissions for Dashboards and Reports so that export becomes a permission like view and edit. This is on medium term roadmap

Hello Everyone,

Happy to announce that your request has been considered and implemented in the Horizon Analytics in both SFDC (Link) & NXT (Link) versions. Horizon Analytics has new capabilities such as responsive charts and dashboards, flexible dashboards with more widgets (Image, Web Page, Rich Text), etc.

Following are the major advantages of Horizon Analytics:

  • New and improved User Interface based on the Gainsight Horizon Design System.

  • Easy access to a list of Reports and Dashboards.

  • Easy to share your Report and Dashboard through PPT or Link.

  • Ability to retrieve the deleted Reports or Dashboards from the Trash folder.

  • Easy to enable/disable the Report data downloads (including external links)

  • Easy to enable/disable the lazy loading of Report Widgets.

  • Easy to select the Color Palette, either Gainsight Defaults or Custom Colors.

  • Simplified drag and drop capability for adding fields to the Report.

Thanks for posting!
