Question

Is there a way to push static fields into Salesforce?

We have some scenarios where we'd like to easily identify Salesforce records that are synced from Gainsight. It would be great if we could create a new field in Salesforce (checkbox or text for example) and have Gainsight populate that field to always be true whenever that record is synced.

Is there any way to do this? We have a live sync, not scheduled and prefer to keep it live.

@igor_m Can you provide some of the specific scenarios? In the case of adding a customer to CustomerInfo we do populate the Customer Info ID onto the Account record (OOB). What other scenarios are you thinking about - what record and objects?

We have some specific scenarios where in one example we are syncing activities to Salesforce and would like to be able to easily identify them as activities created in Gainsight. If we could have either of the following, that would be great:

- A custom checkbox field in Salesforce that can be set to TRUE directly in Gainsight field mapping of Activity Sync, so that all activities are coming to Salesforce with this field set to TRUE.

- A standard/custom picklist (maybe task type) also mapped from Gainsight to Salesforce, but this one would always set a specific value (call it Gainsight Task or something along those lines). Again, preset at Field Mapping level, not by a user, or if it can be automated prior to sync (our sync is real-time)

- A custom/standard text field in Salesforce that can be populated with any static value of our choice, again in Field Mapping configuration

We have other integrations that allow this and that makes things a lot easier.

Let me know if you need any more clarification.
