Slack Community: Global Gainsight Admins

We’re working with Gainsight as well to see how we can collect our top Gainsight requests for making admin lives better.

How to Earn Community Points & BadgesBlog

Gainsight’s Community Team has been hard at work the last several months to make some exciting new improvements to the Community! One of the changes you might notice is your new badge! As you progress through the various levels of participation, you will receive a new logo against your username that suggests your level of engagement across the different activities you have been doing. Helping others on the Community and earning points can lead to some really cool prizes like Gainsight swag,.gift cards, and other surprises!CHAMPION STATUSOn our old platform, Champion status was the only level available for special recognition and reward. If you were a Champion before, you might notice the trophy icon no longer displays next to your name. There are now 11 levels, and Champion is the 5th badge, because we didn’t want to limit the rewards and recognition to just one achievement. Hello, and welcome to our community! Here are five tips which will help you have a great start: 1. Complete your profile informationEverybody likes to know who they are speaking to. By adding more information to your profile, you are more likely to receive better and quicker replies from other users.In order to complete your profile information, go to the "My Profile" page. On this page, you can: Upload a profile picture (did you know posts with a profile pic actually get 2x as many responses?!) Add some info in About me or add your Signature (a sentence which will be displayed at the bottom of all of your posts) Identify your location, primary role, company, etc.  2. Gainsight Next Administrator Certification

Hi Folks, I will be attempting Gainsight NXT Admin certification on 25th June. Gainsight Admin Workload - at what point is it a full time job?

Hello! My organization is mid-rollout for Gainsight and I am starting to plan forward for its ongoing operations. I am wondering if it makes sense to hire a full-time Gainsight admin. Those I've spoken to so far have indicated that it is common to have one admin fulfill both roles, especially for smaller organizations. In our case we would initially have an experienced SFDC admin picking up Gainsight. Does anyone have an opinion on what the workload is for ongoing operations? Or alternatively, at what number of users is it worth having the role separated out? Gainsight’s Community uses ranks and badges to encourage participation and recognize member contributions. As you progress through the various levels of participation, you will receive a new rank and/or badge. New Community Points System and Leaderboard

You may have noticed we’re piloting a new Community leaderboard and points system! This also means we’re working out some kinks and awaiting some upcoming features. (such as excluding community moderators from the board!) We weren’t able to bring over your points from our old Community platform, so we’re starting fresh as of this week. For now, everyone still has their same rank (Rookies, Champions, ACE, etc.), but eventually ranks will also be updated based on the new points system.  What’s really cool about the new points system is that every Community member, regardless of when you joined, has an equal chance to get on the leaderboard each week! And, we’ll also have an “all time” leaderboard. Thanks for your patience while the leaderboard and points system are “under construction”!

Is it feasible to be both a Salesforce admin and Gainsight admin?

We have just signed up with Gainsight and I am the designated admin. We have also only recently implemented Salesforce (only Opportunities) for our Sales team, however our Salesforce admin has left. I'm considering stepping into the breach and taking on Salesforce admin as well. I have no experience of Salesforce. Would it be too much to take on admin for both? What kind of time does it take to get a decent grasp of Salesforce (and what are the best training resources to do so). Really appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

Does your company have a team dedicated to internal systems?

Hi everyone, We have recently moved to Zendesk to handle our support, Salesforce to handle Sales, Gainsight to handle Customer Success and Onboarding, and Acuity to handle training. We also use Pendo to collect Product info. Just wondering, for those folks out there that have several internal apps at play, do you have a team dedicated to the administration and implementation of these apps? Does your product or engineering team play a role given that coding is no longer required? We are considering have one person from each department handling admin and development of each app, but we feel that some sort of 'CRM Manager' who has oversight of internal systems might be necessary, for technical expertise, to keep cohesion and ensure best practice. Would be really interested to know how other companies are managing internal tools as I guess everyone is now moving away from in house solutions. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Community Changes and a Warm Welcome to Cornelia!

Hi Community Members, Change is in the air and I’m excited to share with you some updates on what’s going on with Community. First off, we have a new Community Manager, Cornelia Berchy, who joined Gainsight last month. Cornelia has broad experience in running both virtual and in-person communities and will be serving as Community Manager on an interim basis for a couple of months as we make some additional changes.   Cornelia recorded this brief video introduction, so check it out and tag her to say hello!     The second update I’d like to share is that we’ve implemented some powerful new tools for our Product Management team that will help us consolidate product feature ideas and better communicate actual status of various enhancements that might be on the short or mid term roadmap. Razvi Mohammed's Admin Success Story - Learning by Teaching

Razvi Mohammed is a new Manager of Client Outcomes at Gainsight, and recently earned his Level 3 Admin certification. We don’t typically brag about our own employees earning certs, but in this case Razvi deserves the extra kudos - he scored 98%+ on the exam - higher than anyone else ever! (And yes, Gainsight employees take the same proctored exam as customers.)@mrazvi joined Gainsight as a CSM about 3 years ago, and he was just promoted to a team manager role supervising a team of 8 CSMs. Although he just earned his Level 3 NXT Admin certification, he actually passed the SFDC edition version of the test back in 2019!Kiran Panigrahi @Kinnu, who manages Razvi, also proudly shared these kudos: “Razvi has evolved as a geek on the product and his quench to learn more has helped him a lot.
