New Community Points System and Leaderboard

You may have noticed we’re piloting a new Community leaderboard and points system! This also means we’re working out some kinks and awaiting some upcoming features. (such as excluding community moderators from the board!)

We weren’t able to bring over your points from our old Community platform, so we’re starting fresh as of this week. For now, everyone still has their same rank (Rookies, Champions, ACE, etc.), but eventually ranks will also be updated based on the new points system.

What’s really cool about the new points system is that every Community member, regardless of when you joined, has an equal chance to get on the leaderboard each week! And, we’ll also have an “all time” leaderboard.

Thanks for your patience while the leaderboard and points system are “under construction”!

BOO!

For those of us who have been contributing for years, this is disheartening.  To lose the points is one thing - but really, you need to find a way to preserve our ranks at least.

If nothing else, just so that other users/newer users will be able to identify who are the more experienced admins.

Hi Jeff,

I understand your thoughts here! Currently, your all-time rank is preserved. When we have the ability to link member ranks with the new points system, we’ll do our best to ensure the ranks continue to reflect all-time participation.

Points and ranks are certainly two key ways we can represent and visualize a member’s contributions.  We’re also just starting to use badges to acknowledge a member’s expertise and special contributions. I hope you’ll agree that the shared learnings (given and received), and valuable product feedback that we’ve implemented over the years, are also excellent indicators of the value a member provides to the Community!
