How do you use the tags dropdown in the company object?

Looking for some examples of how different people make use of the system dropdown “Tags” and what they use it for.

@jnoble100  We’ve used them in a couple of different ways. 

  1. Customers that are being upgraded to a new version of the product
  2. Customers that no longer want to be contacted
  3. Customers that are in the CSMs name temporarily, and need to be moved out eventually.

Thanks @heather_hansen , some good ideas. My initial thoughts are something along the lines of what products a customer is using. Do you guys change how you use them over a customer’s lifecycle?


We are using the Features option to show some of the product purchased details.  We do.  The only thing I’ve noticed is that since they have to be updated in Salesforce, it’s a bit more challenging to adjust them often.  Generally, I also prefer to use a rule to populate them instead of relying on the CSM.  :)  Hope that helps!


We use the NXT version of Gainsight - so no SFDC. I like the idea of a rule to populate these fields - one to definitely consider for us in the future (with our CRM).
