To migrate the activities that show on the relationship only on the customer C360 timeline as well.
This is absolutely necessary! If you have a C360 timeline activity - you can edit and use associated objects to associate to R360. However, the system won’t allow you to edit a R360 timeline and use associated objects to C360.
Alternately, there should be a system-option to allow GS Admins to set the default auto-relationship on inbound emails. Right now this defaults to Relationship - which is ultimately what is causing this issue.
